Winter Wonderland And Some Winners

misc-060

Well, I am missing the circus tonight. THANKS alot snow. It is pretty…but it is cutting into my personal events. Not only did I get jipped out of going to the circus but they have canceled the karate banquet. For the second time! AND, they are calling for snow again on Sunday. I am telling you, this is some crazy Georgia weather we are having this winter.

The dogs are certainly enjoying the snow. Romping around wrestling, running, and jumping. They have been really funny to watch.

It is however enough to make me want to dig out the Rimowa luggage and fly to the tropics…only I can’t get to the airport I don’t think. Then if I could it would be the issue of flights taking off or being stranded. So, here I sit in my snuggy freezing watching the white stuff continue to fall.

I do have some winner to tell you about…

The Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies winner is:

#11- Amanda Starr

The Chocolate Cheerios winner is:

#27 - GaHome2Mom

Congratulations to you both!!

Please check your e-mail for verification.

And, until next time…I am going to cozy up and hibernate. Please wake me up when spring hits.

Goodbye Nov. 22nd!

November 22nd, 2009

This has been the craziest of days for me. They released Bric from the hospital, which is a good thing…only we have no answers still. He is a medical enigma apparently. They know that he has some sort of infection raging through his body, they just can’t pinpoint where and why. So we will be consulting with a surgeon next week because they want to do some exploratory surgery to see what the bulge in his side is and what is causing all of this mess.

THEN, I lost my mother. Seriously, I lost her. I talked to her this morning when she called to check on Bric, she let me know that she would be around today if I needed her and that she was just going to hang around the house and have a lazy day. Well, I was calling her to let her know what was going on and she never answered the phone. I couldn’t get her on the cell phone either. After over an hour of trying to find her panic was starting to set in. Had something happened to her? Where was she? What could be wrong? She always answers her phone or calls me right back. Then after an hour and a half I sent Tate to go and check on her…and of course at this point I have all kinds of horrific thoughts going through my head…the best of those being “Help, I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up”. Sooo, Tate calls me back and says she isn’t at home. Well, that at least alleviates a few of my fears…now I have all kinds of other fears creeping in relating to automobile accidents. Good grief where in the heck is she and what in the world is wrong?! So, I start calling my Sisters. Well, that is where I found her…she was over the mountain having lunch with my older sister and never heard her phone ring. Hmmm, How in the heck can you not hear it ring 5 thousand times?! So after I got over that almost heart attack moment I decided I am going to get her a hearing aid for Christmas. Sorry, Mom, but really…you always answer my calls and you deserve it after almost sending to my grave early!

Then, we get settled in here at home and I finally sit down to draw the winners for the contests that ended on Friday when all chaos broke loose…and Random.Org is down. What the heck? Random dot org, I depend on you, how can you let me down on today of all days? So, I still don’t have winners for my giveaways that ended 2 days ago. I thought about going back to the old Post-It note method that I used when I first started having giveaways, but by golly, I don’t wanna go to the store to buy Post-It notes right now and I know that there is no way in heck that I have enough to do all 5 contests. So, you will all just have to wait for one more day and hope to goodness that Random dot org gets their act together before then.

In saying all that…I am exhausted! WAY beyond tired. I am going to put my pajamas on, fix me a cup of hot chocolate, turn on some sappy Sunday evening movie and crash. Maybe I should put in some identity theft protection because I may not wake up for a week. Nah, I wouldn’t make you wait that long to hear who the winners are. At least I don’t think I would.

Accckkkk! And some Winners

November 4th, 2009

Ok, I am a slacker. I admit it. Life gets in the way, I get behind and things turn to chaos.

I have this new thing that we just can’t help snuggling with. She is just too adorable!

yuffi

She will cuddle in just as close as she can. She is such a people dog. She likes being in the thick of things and loves all of the attention you are willing to lavish on her and then some. We think she is such a star that she should be receiving tv deals. And oh my goodness, those little puppy licks will get you every time!

And we had company over for dinner and cards last night. And to prepare for that I had to do a gazillion loads of laundry. Seriously…and I still don’t have it all caught up. Why I have so much laundry I have no idea. But I have done about 7 loads a day for the past 3 days. AND JUST LET ME SAY…I am SICK of laundry!

Karate is every night this week, we are preparring for a tournament this weekend. Tate will not be competing because…on Monday he received his Yellow Belt. So, with him moving up a belt and a tournament so soon he decided that we would just go watch, support his fellow teammates and volunteer our services to support our studio in the tournament. It is sponsored by UKS, where Tate takes and they will need people to run for stuff, ScoreKeepers, TimeKeepers, etc. DO I have a picture of Tate getting his Yellow Belt? NOOooo, this well prepared mother forgot her camera at home.

Now, the whole point of this post is to announce some winners. Well, that is at least what it started out having the intention of.

Yoplait - #1 - JamieZ

Tacofuness - #49 - Melanie

Congrats on your wins!!

Pour Some Sugar on Me…

October 27th, 2009

poison-band

…so sorry, I was a teen in the 80’s. I listened to all the big hair bands like Poison. And I liked them. I still have some of the cassettes. Seriously. Don’t tell anyone, it seriously dates me, but I can’t help it. Now, my son is a huge fan of 80’s music and I love him for that. The big difference is that he has them on CD and he calls it old music instead of cool music. He doesn’t care for Country Music though, but my daughter Erin loves it. Me,  I just like all kinds of music in every genre imaginable. Beause you know what they say, variety is the spice of life, or something similar to it. Once I went to a David Lee Roth concert and had some really good friends who were David Lee Roths roadies…I got to go backstage and hangout. It was really cool but trust me when I say that Beer and Oreos don’t really go together very well. Those were the days. No thinking about bills, raising kids, purchasing term life insurance or all that other grown up stuff. It was all about living in the moment and going with the flow. I wouldn’t go back to it for the world though and I can’t remember half of it. I like the sober life…it is so much clearer.

Now for the winners of the SugarhouseInk:

SugarhouseInk Etsy  Print your own design: #37 JuliMoe

$25 gift card to SugarhouseInk: #43 LivingforGod

$50 Gift card to Sugarhouse Ink: #8 ChelseaPrice

Congratulations all!

November 1st starts The Post-It Place’s Holiday Gift Guide. I will be introducing you to some fabulous products and companies….and we are going to have awesome giveaways! I hope you are all ready for the party. Can someone bring the napkins? I am always out.

A Few Winners

October 25th, 2009

See, I am trying to stay caught up and announce the winners in a timely fashion…I told ya I would. It is getting to be like my insurance agent and the new auto insurance quote I have been trying to wrangle out of him…someone needs to be poking and prodding me to get on it. Is everyone having a good weekend?? I hope so! And I hope that this makes others even more:

Musical Hand Wash Timer:  #41 - Christine

Souplantation! :  #1 Scottsgal

#13 - Robynn’sRavings

#23 - Matternu

YAY!!! Congratulations to you all! Please go check your e-mail because it will tell you what you need to do to claim your prize.

Ohhh, almost forgot. Thatgirl, I hope you have enjoyed your stay in GA, can’t wait to hear all about it! The weather hasn’t been the greatest, but at least the leaves are gorgeous.

Curveballs

October 21st, 2009

I am really behind on posting winners. I can’t even remember which ones I need to post. So, I am going to start afresh.

I can tell you are that StaciA won herself a Shandle.

Monica deserved some PeaceLoveMom and will get to snuggle up in her cozy new shirt.

Sometimes life throws you curve balls and all you can do is swing. You might hit it, you might not.

I have to take my son to the funeral home tonight…and tomorrow they will bury one of his friends. What 12-year old should have to agonize over what they are going to wear to the funeral home and what they will say to a friends parents? Parents who have had to not only endure the loss of their child but the heartbreaking knowledge that it was all due to some very mean kids…bullys. I would really like to tell you how I feel about all of this, but this is typically a family friendly site.

And, Tate is agonizing over pimples. Uggg, he is changing so much. His body, his voice…everything. And let me tell you, when a boys voice starts to change…he LOVES to hear himself use it. He hasn’t hushed. I have to admit though, it is kinda neat to hear it. Sad, but such a milestone. I suppose I should go out and buy him some acne products but I have just had a hard time admitting to all the changes going on with him. I want him to still be little. Then my grocery bill would probably not have doubled. Boys that age can also EAT. I mean really pack away some food. It is almost scary. Sometimes I think I need to nail down the dining room table so it doesn’t get inhaled with the plates. Anyone have a few extra plates laying around? I seem to be missing a few along with about half my forks.

Winners, Confessions and Such

August 14th, 2009

Before I get to the winners I have a confession to make. I messed up the ending of one of my contests and ended it a day early. But, I hadn’t drawn a winner so I just left it as is and drew at the right time and included everyone. I am so sorry. My brain has been a little off. We have had a visitor from Holland with us since Tuesday and thing just seem to have been really crazy. Dealing with activities, entertainment, language barriers, etc has been a little overwhelming. And although she speaks fairly decent English, there are barriers. It took us quite awhile to figure out what Tree Cats are. Turns out she can’t really say “th” very well and was meaning 3 cats. And people say I have an accent. Then, last night Tate kept coming through saying none of his nicer shorts would fit and I of course had to argue because several pair were basically new. But, he brought every pair of pants and shorts he had into the living room, and ended up with only 2 pairs of jeans and 1 pair of shorts that fit him. Now, I have a black garbage bag full of shorts and pants to bless some little boy with. All the while crying that my little boy is getting so big. Erin has sprung a leak, in her bathroom that is, her sink is leaking and her shower won’t drain. And, I am looking for an affordable MWF Filter for the water dispenser on the fridge. Crazy I tell ya! Seriously just crazy.

Now, on to the winners:

The winner of the Carolina Pad School supplies is:

#170 Judy Brittle

The winner of the Pillsbury Simply is:

#28 Carol
