A Day of Winners

Whew, Tate’s Karate test is over. Supper has been made and eaten. Dishes have sorta been done (they are sitting in the dishwasher). A load of laundry is going. An ad for people who have suffered from malignant Mesothelioma is playing on the television. And the dog is snoring.

Me, I am just tired. It has been a really busy week around here with everyone going in different directions and on top of that one of Bric’s offices is relocating so last night we were finishing up the packing and loading of trucks. I left early compared to most…I think they said that they finally finished with the last load and left at 4:30 this morning. While I should feel guilty for leaving earlier than the majority…I am not going to at all…I made supper and delivered it to them and then packed up 2 of the rooms.

Drippin with Drool

I am finally just about to get recuperated from being away at the Blissdom conference. My laundry pile has shrunk form a mountain to a molehill, the dishes are no longer piled to the moon, my dog seems to no longer be a drooling mess. Oh, I think I forgot to tell you about that…I came home to my dog Roxie being in the throws of anxiety attacks and leaving slobbering messes everywhere she happened to be. It was really gross. She would just be standing there drooling all over every surface. She is a little bit attached to me and when I go away for any length of time she makes herself sick with anxiety. She worries over something happening to me and my never returning to save her from the psychotic throws of the rest of the family. Seriously. Of course when you have a 110 pound dog drooling constantly you are going to have some major cleaning to do, as in needing one of those Anilox roll cleaning thingys. Not that I have any clue what that is or if it would even work but it sounds good.

I have so much to tell you later! My weekend in Nashville was in one word WOW. From the Country Inn(troduction) Blog Party to the modern sofas at movie night it was non-stop. I wish I had felt better during the weekend to take further advantage of all that was offered but I think I over did it before I even got there. I am still recuperating and plan to just take it easy for several days. I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend and I can’t wait to catch up!

A Hunk of Junk and some Winners

Another one of my posts with a little of everything thrown in kinda like my junk drawer. Bric is feeling some better, not a lot, but some. He will be having some exploratory surgery to see exactly what is going on since there they haven’t been able to determine the exact cause of all of his discomfort yet. They have a few guesses, but they are just that, guesses. We are probably looking at surgery some time next week, not sure yet though.

Thanksgiving is approaching quickly. I am ready…are you? Fried Turkey, Sweet Tater Souffle, Whipped Carrots, Pineapple Casserole, Green Beans, Ham, Dressing, Broccoli Salad, Deserts…well, you get the idea. We will have a spread here. I will over-eat. We will all be miserable. But it is more than worth it in my book.

We put up our Christmas Tree today. Yes, it is a little early, we traditionally wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving but we weren’t too sure what the weekend would bring so we decided to go ahead while the gettin was good. And I had presents wrapped that needed a place to go.

Each year I pick my wrapping paper with care. I am crazy I know but I love to wrap presents. I will even do so for others. This year they are all wrapped in red, white and black:

I am thinking of going shopping on Black Friday with a friend of mine. I have been several times and I love to watch the people. That is the best part of the whole day. I hate getting up that early, but sometimes sacrafices must be made. And good golly, the things they fight over are worth seeing. I mean really folks, who fights over car accessories ? I can’t wait to see what they do this year, I will have to take pictures if I end up going.
