We are in the midst of a crazy busy weekend but are having the best time. We have been on a ghost tour, to a haunted house and have several thing scheduled for tomorrow. I can’t wait to tell you all about everything we have been doing. We didn’t take a vacation this year and as hot as this summer was I am not sure we would have enjoyed it if we had. But this fall we are going to be busy as bees. I LOVE the fall. Love it, love it, love it!!

I love getting out and about, enjoying activities and events with my family and breathing the fresh cool air. I love long-sleeved shirts. Ok, so I love being able to wear long=sleeved shirts because when you push the sleeves up mid-way to your elbow it gives the appearance of being skinnier than what you really are.

Seriously, it does.

Try it.

I’ll wait on you.

I can find all kinds of things to do while you see if I am right. I can search for weird gift ideas…stuff like a stuffed pickle. Or I can search for carpet cleaning Holly Springs NC. No, not because I live there, because I can maybe win some SwagBucks which I an turn into Amazon giftcards, which I can use to buy weird things like bacon band-aids.

Yes, I probably do need help.

Ohhh, see…I told you the shirt trick works!

Fall, my favorite time of the year!

Buford Highway Farmers Market

Yesterday I had to take my niece to the airport and it provided me with the perfect opportunity to visit the Buford Hwy Farmer’s Market. I heard about it a few weeks ago and have been trying my best to get there but something always seemed to come up. Well, I finally made it and it was everything I had heard and more!!

Foods of the World

As you walk in you see a big world globe…because well, they have foods from all over the world!

It is amazing at the HUGE variety of foods that they have. They also have flowers, wall fountains outdoor, nesting dolls, small appliances, kitchen tools, etc. Basically, you name it!

sugar plums

Look!

It’s Sugar Plums…that will be dancing in my head!

I saw all kinds of produce that I had no idea even existed. Indian Bitter Melon which I bought for my Mom because it is supposed to help with cholesterol. I also bought dragon fruit and Korean melon (which I will tell you about in another post).

produce

This is just a small portion of the produce section. The produce section alone is larger than most grocery stores.

pork uterus

They also have a large meat section. With EVERY kind of meat you can possibly imagine and some you never want to see again. I mean really, WHO would buy a pork uterus??? And what would you do with it? Ohhh, never mind, I don’t think I really want to know the answer to that.

They had everything from traditional cuts to the exotic. Trust me when I say they had every part of an animal you could ever want to purchase.

seafood

And the seafood department was HUGE! So many different kinds of fish, shrimp, mussels, crab, etc.

octopus

Even Octopus.

NOOOOO, I didn’t come home with that.

I did however buy some weird octopus flavored chips from the Asian section.I just couldn’t resist getting them and making Tate try them. He is like Mikey, he will eat anything. And he did try them…and liked them. I couldn’t try them…they smelled horrid and once I got that first whiff I was done.

teas

Teas, as far as the eye can see.

international grogery

Each aisle is marked with the region that the food comes from. It makes it easy to navigate your way around the globe. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, European, Jamaican, Hispanic, African and American foods are all represented. We spent hours browsing around and being amazed at all the things available that we had never seen before. I can’t wait to go back and I suggest that if you are ever in the Atlanta area you make it a point to visit the Buford Highway Farmer’s Market. They have no idea who I am and this post is in no way sponsered by them, I just had to share a small piece of my experience with you because I felt I had truly taken a trip around the world.

And ok…I just have to ask, does he REALLY think he needs to wear a tiara to accentuate his look? I bet he makes his Mamma proud.

We love to grill at any time of the year, especially during the summer. Here in the south it gets really hot and when you turn the oven on…let’s just say your poor air conditioning goes into overtime. Not that it ever really turns off until late September. Over the past week or so we have seen temperatures in the high 90′s with heat indexes up to 110. Add in the humidity…SAUNA CITY!

Now this is a GRILL! One that every Man here in the South would drool over. It cracks me up everytime I see it so I just had to show it to you.

Tonight is Karate, I am hoping Tate is still enthused about going. He usually goes on Mondays and Fridays, but this Friday they were closed for testing. That has given Tate time to reconsider his decision to continue on. That boy is such a hermit. He is going to end up being one of those people all the kids in the neighborhood are scared of with only his desktops for companionship.  School didn’t work, traditionally sports didn’t work. It is either Karate or Chess Club. Chess club they don’t even talk to one another, just sit and play chess…I think that would defeat the purpose somewhat.
