There are some things in life that you never knew you wanted until you receive them. That is what my husband says about the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror…and I have to agree.

ideal_for

It easily mounts to any shower wall, making it easy to shave, tweeze, remove make-up, etc. And it truly is fogless. One of the concerns that I had was if the quality of the image would be good. Well, let me tell you, it is crystal clear! Another concern that I had was whether or not it would stay mounted. It has. I have had it up for about a month now and the hold is fabulous. The directions for mounting were simple and concise making it an easy project that even I could do.

shower mirror

Simply fill the reservoir with hot water to keep the mirror from fogging up. Seriously. That is all that you have to do. No chemicals or special coatings required. The shower mirror is designed to remain fogless and maintenance-free for a lifetime.

If I had seen this in the store I probably wouldn’t have ever given it a second look, it isn’t something that I would have ever of thought we would fall in love with…I was VERY wrong. Let me tell you the biggest reason that I love this mirror…because Bric now shaves in the shower instead of over my sink. My sink has better lighting that his sink so he would always use mine and I would be left with the mess to clean up. It drove me crazy! Now, thanks to the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror there is no mess!

Each mirror also comes with a handy shelf for razor storage and a squeegee to clean the mirror. You can visit http://www.toilettreeproducts.com/ for more information and to watch a video on how the mirror actually works.

I was provided with a mirror and information from ToiletTree to help facilitate this post. I was in no other way compensated and all opinions are those of my own.

I have heard my sister talk about the Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel for several weeks now. She ranted and raved about how I just HAD to try this new product from Scrubbing Bubbles that left a dot of cleaner on the inside of your toilet bowl rim keeping the toilet nice and clean and fresh. My thoughts were if it just leaves a dot of stuff how can it be that great. Ok, PLEASE don’t tell her that I said this…but, She was right. PLEASE , please don’t tell her. I will never hear the end of it.

You too can make toilet cleaning easier, less disgusting – and keep it clean in between with Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Brush™ and Toilet Cleaning Gel! This system is fabulous! Along with the Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-A-Clean system, my bathroom sparkles, smells great and is truly clean…in less than half the time it would normally take. You seriously have to try this stuff.

Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Brush™ is the only toilet cleaning system that’s designed for tough stains and touch-ups, while Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel keeps toilet bowls clean and fresh in between regular deep cleanings.

Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Brush™ Toilet Cleaning System

Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Brush™ is the only toilet cleaning system with different cleaning pads to tackle both tough stains and quick touch-ups:

• The Scrubbing Bubbles® MAX pad cuts through tough stains like hard water, limescale and rust; once you’re done cleaning the pad can be thrown away.

• Scrubbing Bubbles® Flushables are great for quick cleaning and daily touch-ups and can be flushed away when finished.

• Specially designed, the curved handle lets you get into hard to reach places like under the rim of the bowl.

• The handle can be hung on the side of the tank for easy storage.

Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel

Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel keeps toilet bowls clean and fresh in between regular deep cleanings:

• Once a gel disc is stamped onto the toilet bowl, it clings and lasts up to seven days before dissolving away and is available in three scents: Fresh Clean, Fresh Mountain Morning, and Citrus Action

• Each time the toilet is flushed, a small amount of gel dissolves, circulates around the toilet bowl, quickly coating the surface to prevent buildup of limescale and toilet rings. With each flush, the gel releases a fresh scent.

• It is easy to use and more hygienic than traditional clip-on toilet bowl cleaners, because you don’t have to touch it when you replace it.

Availability:

Scrubbing Bubbles® products are available in the home cleaning sections of food, and mass-merchandise stores such as Target, Wal-Mart, and many more.

marcal

As Earth Day approaches we should all be looking a little closer at some of the ways that we can each make a difference to this lovely planet that we call home. This year I have spent many different ways looking into how my own family can make a difference. We have started using organic and natural cleaning products, pest control and paper products. We use all energy saving light bulbs. We have made a conscience effort to use less power and water. We have started recycling, granted, it is on a small scale at the moment but it is a start. Remember, we live in the middle of nowhere…we do not have a recycling program here, much less curb side pick-up. Hmm, we don’t even have a curb.

Our biggest obstacle has been paper products. We use a lot of paper products. That means I am responsible for the loss of a lot of trees. Toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, facial tissues. Yep, we use them all. Then I found:

Marcal Small Steps!

Their Mission and Vision:

Marcal is an “Earth-Friendly Paper Goods Company” that provides consumers like you with products that you can feel good about purchasing. For over 50 years, Marcal has been making its paper from recycled paper, not from trees. By purchasing Small StepsTM by Marcal® brand, you are taking a small, easy step to a greener earth.TM
At Marcal, We believe that products should:

* Give you the performance you can count on
* Be good for the home and gentle on the environment
* Not cost a lot

Ahhh, I feel better. Now I can use a paper towel knowing that it came from recycled paper and not from cutting down yet another tree. And I love the Marcal products. My favorite thing? The toilet paper! Why? Because it is easy on my septic tank and I don’t have to change the roll near as often! HALLELUJAH! Seriously. And that of course brings up the age old question of why is it that only the Mom knows how to change the roll.

On the Marcal Small Steps website you can find the complete story and how they strive to recycle and make changes in big and small steps to benefit the environment. You can also find hints and tips by Beth to help you make changes as well. Another great thing about Marcal…you can usually find a $1 off coupon in the Sunday paper making it an even better deal. Saving the environment. Saving money. And providing your family with quality paper products. That is what I think of when I think of Marcal. So, what will you do between now and April 22, 2010 for Earth Day? I will be using Marcal toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues and napkins. I will be saving trees with Marcal.

I was provided with a sampling of Marcal paper products to help facilitate this review. All opinions are those of my own and I was in no other way compensated for this post.

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED !!!

christmas-tree41

Here is a great holiday gift for anyone’s favorite Do-it-yourselfer, handyman or anyone else who just loves a good story. ” Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat” is a vignette-style bathroom reader featuring the SyFy channel’s Ghost Hunters Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. The book details tales of plumbing horrors and hilarity in an easy-to-read short story format. Nothing too gross, or too scary but certainly enough to make people of all ages chuckle.

front_cover_final

According to a news release, “The idea behind the book stems from all the strange, funny, unexplained and simply weird experiences both the Ghost Hunters and other Roto-Rooter plumbers have witnessed over the years involving pipes, drains, sinks and toilets inside America’s homes and businesses.

“There’s a story about a Roto-Rooter man called to unclog drains at a Florida alligator farm who worked in waist-deep water while handlers kept gators at bay with prods. Another story deals with a kitchen sink drain clogged from end to end with broken glass from a full case of beer bottles that had been pushed down the garbage disposal at a party. ‘Chilling Tales’ features toilet trivia and even a chapter that tells the Ghost Hunters’ inspiring story,” the release says

There are some really great stories in this book that chronicles the funny, the weird and the just plain strange. Makes a perfect gift for almost anyone on your list and is affordable at $12.95.

Feel free to check out www.chillytales.com for purchasing information, reviews and excerpts.

AND, you can enter to win it here. Two (2) lucky readers will each win a copy of the book.
To Enter: Visit www.chillytales.com and leave me a comment telling me what your craziest Porcelain Seat tale is. Mine? It would have to be the time that my son flushed an owl figurine down the toilet. The thing is…it made this weird noise and I didn’t KNOW that was what he had done. So all  I knew was that the toilet was stopped up and making weird noises even when no one was in there. It was kinda scary at night when all of a sudden you would be just about asleep and all of a sudden hear a screaching sound coming from the bathroom.  All entries must be received by December 3rd at 5 PM EST. All entries must have a valid US mailing address. Winners will be selected at random and will have 3 days to respond to the verification e-mail.
