Both of my kids have had the terrible misfortune of having acne. I never had it bad growing up, but both of them have problems on a regular basis. We have tried so many over-the-counter and prescription only products that we could support the whole acne product industry. Some things have worked a little, some not at all and some worked great but only if you continued to use it on a daily basis…and with teenagers, nothing gets remembered on a daily basis. And the things that did work great tended to have terrible side-effects. And on and on and on I could go.What even causes acne? Why are some more prone than others? Well, one of the majors is:

Stress combined with hormonal changes makes teens more prone to acne outbreaks because it makes the body produce greater quantities of androgen hormone, which in turn causes some skin glands to pump out more oil. More oil results in more break-outs. Stress levels around here are at an all-time high. Erin is getting ready for her wedding, Tate is studying for the SAT along with his regular school work load, plus being Matt’s best man. Stress, stress and more stress. In other words, acne breakouts are at an all time high here. Then, the great folks at OXY® contacted us and wanted to give Erin and Tate the opportunity to take the OXY Skin Challenge.

OXY Clinical offers breakthrough complexion care, providing pharmaceutical-grade medications and continuous-release technology to treat, heal and help prevent acne breakouts – all without a prescription. The OXY Clinical Acne Solutions pack consists of a Clearing Treatment, Advanced Face Wash and Hydrating Therapy. All OXY Clinical products contain an advanced delivery system technology that helps the product to work continuously over time. And, the OXY® Clinical Clearing Treatment has been proven to kill 99% of acne causing bacteria in 8 hours, so it starts working right away and they say that some people have seen a positive outcome in as little as 3 days, and significant results in about 4 weeks. (It does take time for skin to renew itself, so typical benchmark times are 3, 10 and 30 days.)
Erin and Tate both noticed a marked difference after the first couple of days. As they continued to try it, the better their skin got. One thing we did notice though is how dry their skin became, even with using the moisturizer that is included in the OXY Clinical line. We simply added a good quality moisturizer to their routine and it solved the problem. After 20 days I am happy to say that Erin’s face is almost completely cleared up!!! Tate’s would be too if he would use it like he is supposed to. You can definitely tell when he does and doesn’t.

“OXY supplied some products, some of the information and product for giveaway to help facilitate this post. I was in no other way compensated and all opinions are those of my own. Did you know that my Mom used to tell me that if I ate too much chocolate I would get acne? Now that I think back on it I see that she just wanted it all for herself. I should have thought to tell my kids that dang it!”
