We all reach those moments in our lives where we need a little inspiration to help us to continue to put one foot in front of another. We all get discouraged over the events in our lives and hit those walls that make us want to give up our goals, dreams and aspirations. But, as I was watching some of the Olympics and learning about some of the upcoming games and the athletes that will be competing one athlete stood out. They call him the “Snow Leopard”. He has overcome GREAT odds just to make it to the Winter Games. He hails from Africa a land that doesn’t see snow. Kwame Nkrumah Acheampong, known for his trademark white leopard-print ski suit and underdog story, has defied the odds by becoming the first person from the snow less African country of Ghana to qualify for the Olympics…he will compete in the men’s slalom and giant slalom…and he only started skiing 6 years ago.

So, if you are faced with discouragement…think of the “Snow Leopard”. A man with a great story, a great heart and a man who has overcome great odds to realize a dream he never knew he had. You can find out more about Kwame Nkrumah Acheampong all over the internet. Kwame, I wish you good luck in the slalom on Saturday!!

Well, I am missing the circus tonight. THANKS alot snow. It is pretty…but it is cutting into my personal events. Not only did I get jipped out of going to the circus but they have canceled the karate banquet. For the second time! AND, they are calling for snow again on Sunday. I am telling you, this is some crazy Georgia weather we are having this winter.

The dogs are certainly enjoying the snow. Romping around wrestling, running, and jumping. They have been really funny to watch.

It is however enough to make me want to dig out the Rimowa luggage and fly to the tropics…only I can’t get to the airport I don’t think. Then if I could it would be the issue of flights taking off or being stranded. So, here I sit in my snuggy freezing watching the white stuff continue to fall.

I do have some winner to tell you about…

The Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies winner is:

#11- Amanda Starr

The Chocolate Cheerios winner is:

#27 – GaHome2Mom

Congratulations to you both!!

Please check your e-mail for verification.

And, until next time…I am going to cozy up and hibernate. Please wake me up when spring hits.

Wow, it got above freezing today! Actually it got into the mid to upper 40’s today. It felt like we were at some ritzy Myrtle Beach Hotel laying on the beach! The sun was out, birds were singing, there was even a woodpecker hammering away somewhere in the woods. I never did see him but I could definitely heat him. AND….

…I left my house. I haven’t been off the hill in a week. I have holed up and hibernated through this unusually frigid weather and let everyone else go where ever needed going. Now, if they had said lets go grab some Myrtle Beach Accommodations, I might have left the house but I doubt it because from what I hear it was just as cold there as it was here.

I wonder if it snowed on the beach. Hmmm, I might have to look into that. Snow covered sand. That would be an interesting concept I suppose.

“Hey Suzy, how was your  Myrtle Beach Accommodation? What did you wear while on vacation?”

“Oh, it was beautiful and I wore my snowsuit while on the beach”

Yep, interesting indeed.

I need a vacation!

I have a love hate relationship with our DVR. I love being able to record shows and watch them later. I love being able to skip through all the commercials and turning an hour show into a 30 minute show. I love being able to rewind the show to hear what I missed because a kid was screaming “MOM” at the top of their lungs over some travesty that has taken place between siblings. I love that you can now move and take your Direct TV with you where ever you go. Because I am seriously thinking of moving to the southern most tip of Florida. It hasn’t been above freezing here in over a week. Seriously folks…I am usually not one to complain much about the weather, well except when it is 100 degrees with air so humid you can’t think straight. But all of this arctic air is driving me stir crazy. So, as I was catching up on the 500 shows that I have recorded and am WAY behind on I saw the commercial where you can pack up and move Direct TV in Florida or wherever else you want to move to. And it was such a tempting thought.Except I would hate having sand in my every nook and cranny 24/7.  And it is flat. And crowded.

Now, I feel guilty because I have like 500 TV shows recorded. Most of which I think that I really want to watch and then never find the time for. So I look at all these shows and feel guilty that I have given Nelsons a false reading as I dit delete instead of play. Ahhh, the ups and downs of DVR. I love Technology. I love Direct Satellite TV Because without it, I would have no TV. Remember, I live in the GA Mountains. Where it is freezing…literally. And where I still have snow from almost a week ago. That my friends is unheard of in this neck of the woods!
