Yesterday our community came together and had a fun day at the Cohutta Springs Conference Center. I think the official name of it was “Murray in Motion”. They sold tickets for $2 each which made it a very affordable event for anyone. The touted that:
The event will offer fun for children and adults including water slides, a zip line, swimming, Torpedo speed boating, the Blob and much more.
The zip line, blob, water slide and torpedo were TONS of fun, but there wasn’t much more offered. And it was extremely UNorganized. The ladies at the table checking people in were rude and clueless and it sort of set the tone for the rest of our day. I think if they had advertised and promoted it more and involved more of the community businesses it could have been great and we wouldn’t have felt as if we needed a roadside assistance plan.
The zip line was a huge hit, as were all of the water activities. Here you see Tate at the end of the line and one of the volunteers, Trevor. I just love Trevor, such a sweet young man whom I have known since he was a little boy. His dad is also the best Doctor ever!
You can see all of my pictures from our day on MY FACEBOOK.
Even with all of the unorganization and chaos, it turned out to be lots of fun and we would do it again. I just hope next year good ol’ Hicktown gets it together a little more.
