Thanks to my buddy Tom Murrell for the post.
Travelling involves more than just getting your airplane reservations and a taxi to the airport. If you will be leaving your home for an extended period of time, you will need to make arrangements to keep your home and your household goods protected from theft, fire and flood. Your first steps should be to pull out all appliances from connections with any electrical outlets. You should have your outdoor automatic sensor controlled lights checked to insure that they will work while you are gone. And you should set your security alarm and test it before leaving the house. If you don’t have one and you live in Arizona like me, you should look for the best burglar alarm equipment in Arizona. A home security system can be purchased at a monthly fee from home security specialists or you can find an inexpensive alarm system, follow installation instructions on the package and avoid monthly fees. Protecting your home while you are travelling is important. In case of flooding or fire, you can travel quietly knowing that severe damage to your home will be reported to police and fire departments by your security system as well as attacks by burglars to your premises.

There are many ways to enjoy the summer season but just because the season brings a carefree attitude it does not mean that you should completely abandon your thoughts about home safety tips. The home alarm is there for a reason and no matter what the season it is there to keep you and your family safe. It is actually sometimes more important to keep it activated and to make sure it is checked for proper working order and enabled more often during the summer months. When the family is rushing in and out of the house during the summer the doors are constantly being open and closed as the family members rush outside to the beach, the playground, summer sports games, and picnics. When the individual family members leave and nobody is in the house it gives a robber a prime target to come in and burglarize the house. In order to make sure there is no breaking and entering during the summer having the alarm enabled at all times will keep your worries about robberies at bay. Another thing to keep in mind is that when the windows are open at night to let in a summer breeze in they are more of a target for robbery so they should also have alarm systems installed as well.

For anyone that has ever owned a home or visited a home with a sliding glass door, walking into one of those doors can cause embarrassment, not to mention an injury. We have sliding glass doors going out to our back deck…and EVERYONE in this house has run into them at some time or another…even the dogs. The Protection Plus helps to eliminate these mishaps, and also functions as a door-locking mechanism that prevents someone from being able to break-in through a sliding door. I can’t tell you how handy these things are! Poor Roxie is the worst at walking into the door and once when she was running to get back into the house she literally bounced off the doors as she hit them. I was shocked she didn’t break the door.
Once suctioned to the glass, the Protection Plus serves as security for a partially-open door, since it “locks” the door in place to prevent it from opening any further. Parents can also use the product to prevent their children from opening the door and wandering out, or it can be used as a “third handle” on the door to help children go in and out freely.

Additional features:
* Made of heavy-duty PVC materials, with a suction cup backing
* Can be used inside or outside
* Holds a weight of up to 50 pounds
* Serves as a decorative hook for towels, wash cloths, etc.
* Resistant to temperature changes and inclement weather
Protection Plus can be found at www.UnSeenOnTV.com or www.inventhelpstore.com for $19.95 + Shipping and Handling for a pack of 2 stars.
