pallet table

Yep, another one of our DIY up-cycle projects.

After we got the towels and the seating done we needed a place to set things.

So, a table was made using 2 pallets, a piece of 4 X 4 wood and some L-brackets. We measured how high we wanted to table to be. We then measured the pallets and subtracted that from the total height that we want the table, and that is how long we cut the 4 X 4 pieces ( you will need 4). We then secured the 4 X 4 to the bottom of one pallet and the top of the second pallet using L-brackets.

It’s that simple. BE WARNED…it is heavy once all assembled. If you plan to move it around much you may want to also add casters. We did not because we knew it would stay pretty much where is.

jensen project promo

Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to go to New York for a preview of a new family friendly movie that will show on NBC on Friday July 16, 2010 at 8:00 EST/7:00 CST. It is such a fabulous movie! You may already be seeing the commercials announcing the movie, I know I am. My whole family can’t wait until the 16th. They have heard me rave about the movie so much.

The Jensen Project 1

“The Jensen Project”  follows the overwhelming success of “Secrets of the Mountain”, if you haven’t seen that movie…you really should. These movies focus on providing quality entertainment that the whole family can enjoy without “the lunge”. What’s the lunge? Oh, you know…the lunge is where you have to lunge for the remote to change the channel or mute the TV really quick because of a non-family friendly scene or language.

The Jensen Project 2

Walmart and P&G have done a fabulous job through their commitment to deliver quality family programming. I am so thankful that they recognized this need and acted on it. We like watching movies as a family but there aren’t many out there without horrible language or some form of nudity and if they are family friendly, they are usually cartoons.

The Jensen Project 3

“The Jensen Project” has a thrilling and fun science fiction plot that focuses on the Thompson family, who are reintroduced to The Jensen Project – a secret community of geniuses conducting advanced underground research to solve the world’s most difficult problems. The family finds themselves forced into a frantic pursuit to keep a potentially dangerous technology from falling into the wrong hands. As the family races to stop the group’s rogue faction, they rediscover the importance of honesty, courage, and being there for one another.

My family is going to love all the technology, gadgets and gizmo’s that this movie offers. We are huge Sci-Fi buffs and this seriously appeals to our tastes. My favorite part? The plane ride. You will just have to watch it to see what I am talking about…I don’t want to post any spoilers. It is Laugh Out Loud Funny because it is so much like something my Tate would do/say.

The Jensen Project 4

I adore Kellie Martin(ER, Life Goes On) and was thrilled when I heard that she plays one of the leading characters in the movie. Also in the all-star line up is Brady Smith (ER, NCIS), Justin Kelly (Saving Grace, The Latest Buzz), Levar Burton (Star Trek, Roots), David Andrews (Hannibal, Terminator 3, Apollo 13,), Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement, West Wing), and Alyssa Diaz (Ben 10, CSI:NY).

Walmart and P&G provided me with transportation to preview The Jensen Project and with a gift pack to enjoy. They are also providing the gift packs for this giveaway. This has in no affected my positive opinion of The Jensen Project. It is a great movie that families can enjoy watching together with a great cast and quality content. All opinions stated are those of my own and were in no way influenced by any outside source.

This is going to be a big week around here. It is more exciting than getting to learn to play piano! I always wanted to learn to play piano but I was told my hands were too small and was experiencing some major jealousy when my sister got to learn.

Anyway…there is going to be several big giveaways coming up and I am going to New York on Tuesday! Yep, this country gal is going to the big city. I can’t wait to tell you all about it. I am going for an exclusive screening of “The Jensen Project” a made for TV movie sponsored by Walmart and P&G to help bring back family friendly entertainment.

So, ya’ll be on the lookout for all the excitement coming your way! In other words, you might want to check back in the morning…

See ya then!

Tate and I have been working on a project. We decided that we would make a compost bin and a raised garden bed. We have the idea, we need material. It just had not worked out at any time for me to pick up the wood…so, when my neighbor through the woods was going into Big Town and asked if I needed anything…and I found out he was going to Lowes….I JUMPED on the opportunity. I have no idea what he was going for, maybe something like a Sony Vaio or something and I don’t care. He brought us some wood back. AND best of all, he stayed around and screwed it all together. AND then went with me to get all the dirt. What a GREAT guy he is!

So, here is the start of our little garden. I have to get the dirt in it Then I have to get the plants and seeds. The, we will be ready to grow, grow, grow!

Oh, and thank you so much Mr. Mike!
