Fantage (Giveaway)
March 2nd, 2010
FANTAGE.COM is a colorful virtual world where tweens cruise around castles, forests, and cities on rocket boards. Along the way, they can shop (virtually), play games, and meet fellow Fantagians. They can use their purchases to dress their characters in different clothes to suit their mood. For keeping in touch with buddies, there’s group chat (regular or safe mode), Instant Messaging, and texting. A premium membership can be purchased for $5.99 per month which allows for a bigger allowance and more places to hang out, but Fantagians can also earn virtual bucks through game play. Kids under 13 need a parent to activate their account, and parents can choose levels of safety options. I think Fantage is a great site that allows kids to play freely without parents having to worry about who they are interacting with. The games are fun and entertaining. Fantage has a lot to offer the tween set that is looking for a place to hang out and interact online. There are also extras on the website such as wallpaper, stationery, coloring pages, cards, etc.
Founded in 2007, Fantage (Fantastic Age) is a next-generation destination site for children and the fastest growing community site for children 7-14. Fantage’s games and adventures entertain and delight children, instill important lessons like sharing and giving, and promote positive social interaction in an engaging, exciting, safe environment that both kids and parents love.Upon signing in, users pick the servers they want to join like Emerald Elephant or the popular Auburn Hippo and then select a region they want to visit, whether you want to go Uptown or Downtown; play some games at the Carnival or play some water games at the Beach.

If you want to do secret-agent style missions, you can head underground. You can earn medals and gifts by playing mini-games. Every time you play a game, the user receives stars (money). This money can be used for stickers, clothing, hover boards for your inventory & IDFone!
Some of Fantage’s favorite games include Buzzer Beater, Bricks Breaking, and most importantly our Top Models, Inc. Fashion Show, where there are three rounds of timed themed looks! Warning: this game IS highly addicting!

Not only does Fantage have exciting, fun games, but parties! Fantage hosts a party every month whether it’s for Valentine’s Day, Easter, or Christmas! Each member gets some rare free items then and more chances to win stars! We have our monster color battle planned until Monday!

The best part? Fantage provides an age-appropriate, safe social networking experience within a fun virtual world. They allow the option to customize everything in your child’s communication privilege. Being dedicated to the safety of Fantage members, they have created a highly sophisticated, three-tier safety system providing the greatest level of protection of any community site for children on the Web.
Fantage is also free. However, Fantage also offers premium packages as well to become VIP members!
More information on that and more can be found on their website here: http://www.fantage.com or follow Fantage on twitter here: www.twitter.com/fantagefans
Thanks to Fantage I am going to give away 2 game cards that are worth $10 each. These game cards will give 2 individual readers 50 days of premium membership!

Nanovor
November 20th, 2009
Nanovor is on TOP of the Christmas list here at our house. Tate and all of his friends have kept the phone lines hot with discussions about this new game that combines the strategy of collectible cards and online game play from Smith and Tinker. Nanovor combines so many different elements of play, making it the hot new toy this season.I can personally vouch for the fact that if you get any boy on your list between the ages of 7-12…you will be the BEST person around. The Nanoscope may look small but the graphics are phenomenal! I was shocked at what a fabulous job they have done with this game and Tate is thrilled with all of the aspects offered by it.

Nanovor is a digital battling monster game that combines the strategy of a collectible card game with the appeal of a multiplayer online game. Designed with the mission to reinvent play for today’s connected generation of kids, Nanovor bridges the gap between traditional and digital entertainment, offering the first integration between online and offline play.

Nanovor is based in a rich fictional world where nanoscopic monsters, known as Nanovor live and battle inside computers. They ruled our still-molten Earth, long before any other species could survive. As Earth cooled and the atmosphere became oxygen-rich, the silicon-based Nanovor slipped into deep hibernation for billions of years. In 1958, when silicon was embedded within a computer chip and electricity pulsed through it for the very first time, the Nanovor sprung back to life. Fast forward to present day. Lucas Nelson accidentally discovers these tiny monsters living inside his computer. With the help of his high school science professor, he uncovers the fact that the Nanovor must fight in order to produce the adrenaline necessary to avoid going back into a crystallized state. As fate would have it, Lucas has stumbled onto the next boys monster battling mega-hit, Nanovor!

Nanovor has gained rapid adoption with kids, especially 7-12-year-old boys who love the stunning battle animations, splats and green goo. The Nanoscope, a high-tech connected toy, extends the battle offline, allowing players to connect up to four handhelds for head-to-head combat with friends. Monsters literally jump between Nanoscope devices during battle and play thousands of combat animations.
Nanovor lets players download their collection of monsters from the online game onto the Nanoscope via a USB connection, allowing them to take the battle offline, anywhere. Everything players do on the Nanoscope is connected back to the online game, establishing character persistence and an unbroken circle of play.
Further, Smith & Tinker provides parents with a comprehensive set of tools that allow them to manage their child’s experience. The site features a robust section where parents can learn about child safety and set up a Parent Account. As part of this account, parents can choose who their kids can interact with and if they can buy or sell in the Nanovor marketplace.
Smith & Tinker’s founders bring decades of experience to the table and are leaders in successful toy and game innovations. The company is led by executives from some of the world’s top brands including Cranium Inc., Hasbro Inc. (NERF), The Walt Disney Company and Microsoft (Halo and Xbox). Smith & Tinker was founded by Jordan Weisman, creator of the MechWarrior gaming franchise, which has sold over 11 million PC games worldwide.
Smith and Tinker provided me with a product for review. No other compensation was received for this post. All opinios are my own.

My Secret Circle
November 17th, 2009
Do you remember the Best Friends Forever necklaces that you used to share with your girlfriends? Wearing them proudly to show that your status in the BFF circle was secure. They were the “in” thing when I was growing up. As Erin was growing up she was always picking out necklaces like that to show her friends how much she cared about them. Girls and gifts that show friendship have been around for many, many years…and will continue to be around for many years to come. It is because we like to nurture one another I think.
Today’s BFF necklace has been replaced with a high-tech gadget called My Secret Circle.

What is My Secret CircleTM?
My Secret CircleTM is the first-ever secure social networking world designed for girls 8-12 and their internet-cautious parents.
Invisible to the online world, My Secret CircleTM let’s younger girls create perfectly private communities with friends, while avoiding the advertising and strangers present on other social networking sites.
Within the My Secret CircleTM world, your child can create their social circles. The My Secret Circle Access Key give your child access to journal, instant message, play games and photo share. Your child can also have access to unlimited online voice-chat with the My Secret Circle Voice-Chat HeadsetTM.

With the BFF pack you receive a pair of flash drives/access keys so that your child can have one and give one to their best friend to share in their online adventure. Making this the perfect gift for girls and their best friends this holiday season. My Secret Circle Access Keys and My Secret Circle Voice-Chat Head sets can be purchased at most major retail stores. No personal information, additional subscriptions, or additional fees are ever required making it an affordable and fun gift for any holiday.
Get A JumpStart! (GIVEAWAY)
August 4th, 2009
With school starting back for kids a good education is on the minds of parents everywhere. On the minds of kids everywhere is enjoying the last days of summer. For more than 15 years, Knowledge Adventure has set the standard in children’s software by creating the finest educational products for use in the home and the classroom. In addition to their CD games, they’ve launched a beta version of their first browser-based virtual world at www.JumpStart.com for kids 3-10 years old. Kids can create avatars called Jumpeez for themselves and explore magical worlds, discovering and unlocking games, videos, and storybooks that help them practice essential skills from math to reading. Over the next year, they will continue to add more features, portals, and learning games to this site. I encourage you to check it out at www.JumpStart.com and combine your child’s sense of adventure and fun with your desire to educate and teach them.

At first we had several issues with this site. It was slow to load and would skip and act like a record that got hung up. I contacted JumpStart and found that it was me, not them. It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer and I was using Firefox. Once I switched browsers I had no problems at all. So with things running much smoother, the fun began. The kids LOVED the ease of the site and how they can wander around and explore finding fun activities at every turn. You can allow your children to play without the fear of them running into people or things that they shouldn’t be exposed to. It is completely safe. And while they are having fun, they won’t even realize that they are learning as well. The game teaches math, reading, and critical thinking skills so kids get a real jump start in life. They even have several 3D Virtual World titles available on CD Rom.

We have used JumpStart CD based programs for many years. Erin, my 18 year old college bound gal even used JumpStart when she was little. Over the years we have watched as they have expanded their line and grown to meet parents demand for more. While browsing around their website I even found several more things that we want to check out. The Code Heads and Dr. Brain line!
If you are looking for some fun and educational products to help your child get a head start…I highly suggest you give it to them with JumpStart!
And you can enter to win a 3-Month Membership to the new JumpStart browser based virtual world for your child.
To enter visit www.jumpstart.com and browse around and all the great things they have to offer to parents and kids alike. Leave a comment stating what you would like for your child to learn. All entries must be received by August 14 at 5 PM EST. Winners will be selected randomly and will have 3 days to respond to the verification e-mail before another winner will be chosen.
