be great

This says it all!

I remember years past when I just kept thinking I would start tomorrow.

Tomorrow never came.

The above is so very true. All it takes is getting started, that is the hardest part. It doesn’t matter what your goal is, you will never meet it if you don’t take that first step. When I first started on this journey I am on…I could barely walk for 5 minutes on the treadmill. I am not up to running a marathon or joining a gym like the gym in richmond va but I can now at least walk much more than 5 minutes. It just took getting started….each and every day. And there are some days when I feel like I am starting all over, but I KNOW that the results are worth it!

How are you doing on your goals?

I am proud to say that I have gone from a size 20 in pants to a size 14!! Yes, I still have a ways to go, but I got started, have you?

Motivation

It is so easy to loose sight of your goal for something that might be tempting you at the moment. I am learning this one the hard way. And it isn’t just about food either. Don’t give in!! Keep your eye on the big picture and know that you can get there!! I have already met one of my first goals that I have set for myself.

If you already gave in to temptation and feel defeated grab yourself up by the bootstraps and start over! I had to do this on another of my goals. But we can make it!!

I know how overwhelming it can all get. Like with my house. It always seems that I am behind and it would just be easier to hire someone like cary cleaning services but I will overcome.

In my weight loss goals, I have lost 7 pounds since the start of the new year!!!

How are you doing?

motivation monday week 2

Just think if I had started this time last year working to meet my goals. I would already be there. Sigh, such is life.

But, that makes this ring even truer. I will work everyday to meet my goals. Then this time next year I will be able to say: “Look, I DID it!!”

I have lost 3 pounds so far and while that may seem like a small amount to some, it is 3 pounds closer to my goal. I have also started cleaning out my closet and thanks to Pinterest have put together several outfits that I would never have even thought about before. I vow not to go to town in my sweatpants anymore!!

So, loosing a few pounds, getting some organizing done, spending more time with my family.

I am sticking to my goals, what about you? How are you doing? Just remember, a year from now what will YOU wish you had done today?

What a week!! It has been just amazing.

Me and Paula Deen

I got the pleasure of traveling with my dear friend Christy Jordan to Savannah for a few days. The reason for the trip? She had to go down to film with Paula Deen for one of her shows next season. It was so much fun being on set, getting to meet everyone and just hanging out. I can’t really talk about a lot of what went on until after the show airs but let me just say…the Deen’s are a WONDERFUL family. They love cutting up and having fun with one another and it shows in how they interact with each other just how much love is in that family. Paula Deen is a work-horse. She amazes me.  I have such admiration and respect for her and all that she has accomplished. And all are such genuinely nice people.

Me and Bobby Deen

One of the things that impressed me the most was Bobby Deen. When he enters a room it is like a whirlwind of energy blows in and you can just tell by the way that the atmosphere changes he is very well liked…I found out why when he left. As his part of the segment was finished filming and he was making his way out the door he stopped and shook hands with every man, hugged every woman and called everyone by name…not leaving out one person…even me. In between his arrival and his departure he made sure to take the time to catch up with every member of the production crew as well as every visitor to the set. He asked about them, their families, their lives. Paula was very busy and very much in demand. I am not sure how she keeps her sanity through all of it but you can tell that she has taken the time to instill in her sons just how important it is to be appreciate and thankful for the people around you. I can’t think of a better trait to have.

Thank goodness we had a safe trip, no need for rv repairs. Ok, we went by car, but you know what I mean. The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The food was FABULOUS!! And I have more to tell…but that will have to wait for another post. Talk to ya’ll soon!
