Oh my goodness. I forgot today was Monday!! How did I forget today was Monday? Well, there are many days when I have no idea what day it is. It just isn’t something that I really keep up with. I know that sounds crazy but I work from home. I home school Tate. And we just go from day to day doing what needs to be done and not worrying about the day, date or time. I usually know it is a weekday because Bric gets up and goes to work, but he was on call all weekend and went to work both days so it sort of messed up my usual way of knowing what is going on.

I have been BAD, BAD, BAD over the past week. Bric bought himself some powdered doughnuts…and I found them. Then Tate wanted some homemade French Fries and I made them…and ate some. It went downhill from there. I haven’t even weighed which I usually do ever Monday because I know just how bad I was last week. But it is all ok. I knew when I started this journey there would be set-backs. I knew that I wouldn’t change all of my habits over night and that it would take time to get to where I want to be. I will get there, set-backs and all. Today I will just start over, be diligent and ban Bric from bringing home more powdered doughnuts.

I have hit that place.

You know that place where everything seems like it is standing still.

Not moving forward, but not falling back either.

Standing Still.

So, I have made myself a challenge, it is time to step it up a notch.

How will you challenge yourself?

As the holidays approach we all get concerned about over-eating, eating the wrong foods, not drinking enough water, not getting enough exercise. And all of those concerns are brought front and center on New Years Day when resolutions are made to really do better during the new year. Did you know that health related resolutions are the most commonly made ones? They are also the ones most commonly broken.

Whether you are faced with the challenge of weight loss, improving nutrition, or simply finding structure for your daily choices, Habitwise will prove that small changes can inspire you to achieve big goals. These bracelets are a very easy way to guide and monitor behaviors. It’s simple, once an action is performed, the color-coded bracelet is moved to the opposite wrist. That is it. And for men they have chips that are moved from pocket to pocket. So, one wrist shows goals for the day, the other shows your accomplishments

Kids are notorious for not being good hand washers…and with the scare over the H1N1 virus that is washing over every household,  we cannot be too careful. In order to teach children to properly wash their hands,  HealthHands has partnered with Disney to make the experience educational and fun. While Hand washing is a simple precaution we can all take – the question for parents is “Are your kids washing their hands the right way?” Now parents can answer “yes” making it fun and easy to get their kids to wash their hands healthier – with the Disney Musical Hand Wash Timers from Healthy Hands!

The Musical Hand Wash Timers fit on any liquid soap pump dispenser and feature kids’ favorite characters and music along with flashing lights to encourage kids wash their hands for 20-25 seconds (the recommended wash time to eliminate germs to a level that will lead to better hygiene). Best of all, parents won’t have to change the brands of soap they know and trust because the patented design fits on all standard soap brands – including wide and thin nozzle brands. With the Musical Hand Wash Timer, the natural action of pushing down on the pump to dispense soap triggers the music to play. Each unit will get more than 1,000 uses – which is a lot of hand washing!
