This is such a cool invention! Well, it isn’t cool, it is really hot. But you know what I mean. The FlameDisk is a solid ethanol grill fuel that offers convenient, safe and eco-friendly grilling with that flame grilled taste that we all crave. The FlameDisk will work in any grill. You just peel the lid off and light it with one of the enclosed matches and you are ready to go! One FlameDisk will burn for about 40 minutes and it cools off quickly so you can easily dispose of it in a matter of minutes with no soot, no ash and no lingering hot coals to worry about. They retail for about $4-$5 and are available at retailers nationwide or by visiting www.flamedisk.com

Why I love the FlameDisk…

I think that these are perfect for women. They are easy to light and easy to discard. I love to grill but after a few very, very close calls I am terrified to light Bric’s big gas grill (let’s just say I am lucky to still have eyebrows). And with the FlameDisk I can grill safely and easily and let Bric handle the big gun when he is at home. And these are perfect for my Mom. She doesn’t grill often but she does like to grill and with her being single and typically only cooking for herself the FlameDisk would make is easy, affordable and convenient.

The FlameDisk would be perfect to take on outings to the lake or park where they have those outdoor grills…you would have no mess to clean up after grilling up the perfect picnic lunch. And really…they are so easy to light, not like all the time it takes getting charcoal ready to grill.

I can think of TONS of uses for these…check them out, pretty neat if I do say so myself!

We love to grill at any time of the year, especially during the summer. Here in the south it gets really hot and when you turn the oven on…let’s just say your poor air conditioning goes into overtime. Not that it ever really turns off until late September. Over the past week or so we have seen temperatures in the high 90′s with heat indexes up to 110. Add in the humidity…SAUNA CITY!

Now this is a GRILL! One that every Man here in the South would drool over. It cracks me up everytime I see it so I just had to show it to you.

Tonight is Karate, I am hoping Tate is still enthused about going. He usually goes on Mondays and Fridays, but this Friday they were closed for testing. That has given Tate time to reconsider his decision to continue on. That boy is such a hermit. He is going to end up being one of those people all the kids in the neighborhood are scared of with only his desktops for companionship.  School didn’t work, traditionally sports didn’t work. It is either Karate or Chess Club. Chess club they don’t even talk to one another, just sit and play chess…I think that would defeat the purpose somewhat.

All I can say is Yummm!

Place your ribs on a rack

ribs-002

Rub em down! (HERE is my rub recipe, for ribs I always add about a cup of brown sugar to my recipe)

ribs-004

Coat them really well so that it will make a really nice crust.

ribs-005

Bake on 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

If you are Tate you will drown them in sauce.

And if you are Tate you will need a gazillion napkins.

You don’t always have to have a grill to enjoy some really great ribs. This is one of our favorite foods and you can eat them with just the crusty deliciousness that a rub will make or you can add sauce for a fabulous treat.
