All of our local schools participate in the Box Tops for Education program, as most around the country do. I always make sure to clip the box tops and place them in a container that I keep on my kitchen counter especially for them and then drop them off at the school on a regular basis. People would be amazed at the difference that the box tops can make in a school if we all worked together and turned in those box tops. With the start of school either already here or quickly approaching now is the perfect time to start saving those box tops.

If you are like me you are constantly on the lookout for fun new games that your whole family will enjoy. We love the classics but sometimes we want something new and fresh from our usual. With the new line of Hasbro card games we can have both! And talk about fun, we have had a blast playing three of the new 2010 games that came out this Spring and are highly anticipating the release of the fourth this Fall. Many nights you will find us involved in a card or board game, it is what we love to do. We don’t really have an official Family Game Night since we actually celebrate it several times a week. However, we did join in the National Family Game Night last year and we plan to join in on the 2010 Family Game night.  The date for 2010 will be Wednesday, September 29 when once again, Hasbro will encourage families across the U.S. to turn off the television and take a break from busy schedules to laugh and bond over classic family board games such as MONOPOLY, SORRY! and THE GAME OF LIFE.

According to a recent Hasbro survey, 42% of Americans said that they’ve laughed so hard when playing a board game that they’ve snorted! And 25% of Americans have even celebrated a big win with a flashy victory dance. Have you had any laugh out loud moments when playing games? Feel free to post your favorite moments on their Facebook page.

Hasbro has introduced a new line of card games that take a spin on traditional game for the second year in a row. By transforming the board games of SORRY!, YAHTZEE and TRIVIAL PURSUIT into “snackable” play formats and by adding the classic French racecar card game of MILLE BORNES to the line, Hasbro card games provide lasting entertainment whether on the go or for family game night.

The 2010 line-up includes:

sorry revenge cards

REVENGE can accommodate 2-6 players and is rated for ages 6 and up.

Yahtzee Hands Down cards

YAHTZEE HANDS DOWN…Keep your wits about you and your eyes on the cards. Ollect dice cards to make classic combinations – 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, small straight, large straight, full house and YAHTZEE! Re-roll by discarding cards that you don’t need and taking a chance on new ones. But here’s the twist…Pit your hand against another player’s. Score high and win the Combo card points! YAHTZEE HANDS DOWN can accommodate 2-6 players and is rated for ages 8 and up.

jensen project promo

Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to go to New York for a preview of a new family friendly movie that will show on NBC on Friday July 16, 2010 at 8:00 EST/7:00 CST. It is such a fabulous movie! You may already be seeing the commercials announcing the movie, I know I am. My whole family can’t wait until the 16th. They have heard me rave about the movie so much.

The Jensen Project 1

“The Jensen Project”  follows the overwhelming success of “Secrets of the Mountain”, if you haven’t seen that movie…you really should. These movies focus on providing quality entertainment that the whole family can enjoy without “the lunge”. What’s the lunge? Oh, you know…the lunge is where you have to lunge for the remote to change the channel or mute the TV really quick because of a non-family friendly scene or language.

The Jensen Project 2

Walmart and P&G have done a fabulous job through their commitment to deliver quality family programming. I am so thankful that they recognized this need and acted on it. We like watching movies as a family but there aren’t many out there without horrible language or some form of nudity and if they are family friendly, they are usually cartoons.

The Jensen Project 3

“The Jensen Project” has a thrilling and fun science fiction plot that focuses on the Thompson family, who are reintroduced to The Jensen Project – a secret community of geniuses conducting advanced underground research to solve the world’s most difficult problems. The family finds themselves forced into a frantic pursuit to keep a potentially dangerous technology from falling into the wrong hands. As the family races to stop the group’s rogue faction, they rediscover the importance of honesty, courage, and being there for one another.

My family is going to love all the technology, gadgets and gizmo’s that this movie offers. We are huge Sci-Fi buffs and this seriously appeals to our tastes. My favorite part? The plane ride. You will just have to watch it to see what I am talking about…I don’t want to post any spoilers. It is Laugh Out Loud Funny because it is so much like something my Tate would do/say.

The Jensen Project 4

I adore Kellie Martin(ER, Life Goes On) and was thrilled when I heard that she plays one of the leading characters in the movie. Also in the all-star line up is Brady Smith (ER, NCIS), Justin Kelly (Saving Grace, The Latest Buzz), Levar Burton (Star Trek, Roots), David Andrews (Hannibal, Terminator 3, Apollo 13,), Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement, West Wing), and Alyssa Diaz (Ben 10, CSI:NY).

I hope that you will all plan to tune in on July 16th to watch “The Jensen Project”. And to make it even more fun for 2 lucky readers…you can enter to win:

Walmart and P&G provided me with transportation to preview The Jensen Project and with a gift pack to enjoy. They are also providing the gift packs for this giveaway. This has in no affected my positive opinion of The Jensen Project. It is a great movie that families can enjoy watching together with a great cast and quality content. All opinions stated are those of my own and were in no way influenced by any outside source.
