It has been unbelievably hot here this past week. With record setting temperatures everything is parched, cracked and dehydrated, including us humans. We need some rain and some relief. Maybe if we all hang some rain chains it will prompt the great stuff to fall.
Last night I thought for sure that it would rain for hours and hours. The way that it was thundering and lightening I just knew it would happen. Nope. We got a few drops then it moved on through. It wasn’t even enough to wet a rain chain, much less make it flow.
A friend of mine posted this on her Facebook yesterday:
IT’S SO HOT AND DRY IN GEORGIA…………….
….the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground.
…the trees are whistling for the dogs.
….the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
….hot water comes from both taps.
….you can make sun tea instantly.
….you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
Then I read this update from her: is feeding her chickens ice chips so they don”t lay hard boiled eggs…..lol
I was cracking up! But on a serious note…if you are the one getting all the rain would you please send it our way? We need a coolin’ off around here. You know it’s bad when the dogs are doing rain dances and the cats are shaking chains rain dancing.
