Several years ago my little sister bought a book for my son called “The Dangerous Book for Boys”. It is a wonderful book full of tips on adventures, experiments and stuff to do when you are bored. We have loved that book!
So, fast forward a couple of years and you will find my friend Christy and I having a conversation about her children and how she wished she could find a great gift for them for some occasion. Her son was at that hard to buy for age that all boys reach. Toys are too immature and electronics too expensive. See, that is the issue with boys, with girls there is always the option of clothes, shoes, make-up and handbags. Girls are SOOOO much easier to buy for.
I started telling her about the book that Tate had received and how much we loved it and let her know that there was also an edition especially for girls called “The Dangerous Book for Girls”. Both of her children received copies of those books that year and they have loved them as much as we did.
Fast forward another year or so and you meet head on with today. As I was sitting here today working on several projects for my job and trying to meet deadlines that have to be met the UPS man arrives and hands me a package that I wasn’t expecting.
Having an energetic puppy that gets into EVERYTHING is a day to day challenge but when something new arrives…Whoooo Boy, you better look out! If you follow me on Facebook you get to see a lot of what Chuka gets into and why he makes me want to put him in one of those amish baby cribs, only made out of steel instead of wood. He is a hot mess…and well, Chuka just couldn’t wait for me to open the package. Little did I know, the package was for him. OhMyStinkinHeck! Now I am in for it. What did he get? Well, let me just show you:
Description From Amazon: The Dangerous Book for Dogs asks a simple question: isn’t there more to being a dog than wearing a mini cashmere sweater and riding around in a $400 evening clutch? What about the simple pleasures of life — feeling the wind in your fur, digging up the grass beneath your paws, smelling another dog’s butt? Isn’t that part of the great joy of being a dog?
Written (with help) by dogs and for dogs, The Dangerous Book For Dogs provides insight on everything from the tastiest styles of shoes to chew to the proper method for terrorizing squirrels. It also contains portraits of noble dogs throughout history, the mysteries of cats and humans, and everything else your dog ever wanted to know but was afraid to ask–like how to make toys out of human’s household items, or how to escape from a humiliating reindeer costume.
Christy sent him this book. What was she thinking??? He definitely needs NO help in the mischief department! I think I may be in for it even more.
Seriously though, this is one of the cutest books I have ever seen. It talks about all things dogs need to know such as how to deal with cats, what shoes are good for chewing and which to stay away from, etc. If you have a loved pooch you should most definitely invest in a copy. It is great for spending some quality together time with your four-legged friend.
I just want to say, the folks who wrote these books have no clue who I am and they had nothing to do with me writing this post. I just felt like you needed to know all about them in case you have kids or critters. You are seriously going to love the books!
