I’m So EXCITED!

I am going to Nashville!

Yeppers, I really am. There is so much going on this week it isn’t even funny. Packing, getting a haircut and eyebrow wax, cooking enough BBQ for about 200 people, throwing a huge party in Nashville and attending a blog conference! I sooo wish I had a new camera to take along. You know, one of those unique gifts for her that she never buys herself. Anyway, I am not sure I can fit everything that I need to do before I leave in…but I will make it somehow or another.

I seriously hope I get to see some fabulous country music star. There is going to be an appearance by Harry Conick Jr for the conference attendees on Friday night but I chose to go forward with a learning dinner instead of attending the concert. I know. Now, if it had been George Straight you can bet yoer britches I wouldn’t have missed that for the world! That man makes me swoon!

Clip Me Over!

My daughter is so talented. She has sewn me several aprons that I absolutely adore. She works with the local 4-H group teaching some of them how to sew. She makes really neat wind chimes out of what most people would consider junk. The only bad thing about her that I know of is that she makes me auto insurance higher. Now,  she has started making these:

She has created lots of super cute designs so far.

But this one, this one is THE best:

SEE, it has my name on it. And it has lots of orange in it.

She is going to make one of these for each of the Focus Group Members chosen to go to the We Blog Conference!

I am so excited…they will LOVE them.

The Country Party!

Eventful Day

Today has been an eventful day…some good and some bad. I went down and grabbed my nieces for several hours so that my sister could finish up her shopping and got some of my own last minute things done. Upon my return home chaos ensued as the dogs went crazy because they were so happy to see me. As they were jumping around and playing the little one got hurt. I think she has a broken leg…and it breaks my heart.

How can you resist that little face? Now imagine it crying. It is so sad and I can’t take her to the vet until in the morning. We are going to have a very long night.

If you have never seen these programs you should check them out! My family LOVES them and now they are available on DVD so that we can all watch them at any time we choose. They also have some great educational tools and toys for all ages.

Ahhh, Relief

Yesterday we had a little reprieve from all of the rain that we have been having. It was so nice to see the sun shine, even if it isn’t to last. We are scheduled for more rain…and then even more rain. Thank goodness that we are not effected by the flooding, but I know many people that are, either directly or indirectly. How can you be indirectly effected? Well, when it floods water sources are contaminated, there are power outages, etc. So while I have some family and friends whose houses are flooded, I have others who have no water and power. Directly, Indirectly. Cause, Effect. If the rain keeps up like they say…we are all going to be so shriveled up and wrinkly that even the top wrinkle creams on the market won’t help.

And what about HickTown? Well, the main little shopping center always floods, even when it just rains a regular rain. There were some trees downed in places and a few roads closed here and there, but we were not effected as bad as a lot of surrounding areas…that is one benefit to living in the foothills of the mountains.

I am packing and getting ready to go tomorrow to the Type A Mom conference in Asheville NC. Asheville is a beautiful place and worth a visit. One of the big draws to Asheville is The Biltmore House and surrounding estate.
