Erin and Matt Nunley

Erin is married, Matt returned back to Fort Hood safely and we all survived! It was a good wedding if I do say so myself! And we are all thankful it is over. What a load of work!!

Have you ever seen those shows where they are doing a birthday cake delivery and all goes wrong. Well, Friday night that is the way I thought it was all going to go. I had this sense of disaster because it seemed like everyone was going in different directions and nothing was coming together as planned. But as we plowed along, everything finally stated falling into place. Then on Saturday morning I was at the church getting all the food ready and just couldn’t seem to get it together once again. It became really comical when my dear friend Christy showed up to help and I started telling her how to make sweet tea. Yep, THE Christy Jordan of SouthernPlate was taking instruction from me on what to do in the kitchen. She finally just shook her head and ran me off. When I came back to the reception hall everything was DONE! I could not have made it through the day without her or my friend Stacy. They just stepped in and took over and made it all happen. Then there is Uncle Jamie. He is Erin’s uncle, not mine…but we all call him Uncle Jamie. Another one I couldn’t have made it through the day without! I have the picture up on Facebook if you want to browse through. They are un-edited and even all the blurry one are there. I just didn’t have the energy to go through and choose the ones I thought were best so you get to see each and every one of them, if you aren’t on Facebook but want to see I will be doing several posts later about the whole event and will include some as we go.

I hope you all had as great of a weekend as we did!!

LOL, I never know where my friend Christy will show up next. A few weeks ago I went with her to Southern Living. I showed a few pictures and talked a little about it on Facebook. It is such a gorgeous place. The reason we went was so that she could film some cooking videos for a new series that Southern Living is launching called Quick Fix Suppers.

Then I open up my inbox and I had a press release about it!

You can watch the videos by going here: Quick Fix Suppers

I wanted to share it with all of you, I couldn’t be prouder of Christy and all she is accomplishing. She is also going to be on QVC Sunday! I am not sure of the time but I know it is a show called In The Kitchen with David.

What a week!! It has been just amazing.

Me and Paula Deen

I got the pleasure of traveling with my dear friend Christy Jordan to Savannah for a few days. The reason for the trip? She had to go down to film with Paula Deen for one of her shows next season. It was so much fun being on set, getting to meet everyone and just hanging out. I can’t really talk about a lot of what went on until after the show airs but let me just say…the Deen’s are a WONDERFUL family. They love cutting up and having fun with one another and it shows in how they interact with each other just how much love is in that family. Paula Deen is a work-horse. She amazes me.  I have such admiration and respect for her and all that she has accomplished. And all are such genuinely nice people.

Me and Bobby Deen

One of the things that impressed me the most was Bobby Deen. When he enters a room it is like a whirlwind of energy blows in and you can just tell by the way that the atmosphere changes he is very well liked…I found out why when he left. As his part of the segment was finished filming and he was making his way out the door he stopped and shook hands with every man, hugged every woman and called everyone by name…not leaving out one person…even me. In between his arrival and his departure he made sure to take the time to catch up with every member of the production crew as well as every visitor to the set. He asked about them, their families, their lives. Paula was very busy and very much in demand. I am not sure how she keeps her sanity through all of it but you can tell that she has taken the time to instill in her sons just how important it is to be appreciate and thankful for the people around you. I can’t think of a better trait to have.

Thank goodness we had a safe trip, no need for rv repairs. Ok, we went by car, but you know what I mean. The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The food was FABULOUS!! And I have more to tell…but that will have to wait for another post. Talk to ya’ll soon!

I have a confession to make. I am an addict. I have no control over my addiction, it controls me.

It all started when I was visiting my friend Christy Jordan a couple of months ago. I was minding my own business when her son comes to me and tells me I HAVE to try one. He told me they were the BEST ever.

I should ring his neck. Seriously.

It is awful. Everytime I see my stash getting low I panick. I go into DT’s. I call Bric and tell him he HAS to stop on his way home. I can’t live without them.

What exactly is it that I am addicted to?

BreathSavers

BreathSavers!

I can live without the Peppermint version (I like them too, don’t get me wrong)…but the Spearmint better NEVER leave me. If you haven’t tried these I suggest that you don’t or else we will have to start BreathSavers Annonymous. Yeah, they really are that good. And just for the record,  I have forgiven Christy and her family for being the instruments that led me to this new found addiction.

“BreathSavers has no clue who I am. I just needed to purge my innermost addictions to the world.”
