The days after Christmas are always so crazy for me…but this year it seems crazier than ever. Car Tags are due, Insurances are due, Abby has to go to the vet tomorrow because her splint is slipping, my brother-in-law is having back surgery tomorrow, etc. It just seems like this huge whirlwind that I just wanna sit down in the middle of but it won’t let me. Do you feel that way? Then it will come to a complete stop for another couple of days (New Years) and start right back up again.
Are you going to make any New Years Resolutions this year? What are they? Do you usually keep them or are they broken as quickly as mine?
My resolutions are:
1.)Eat Healthier this year. I am an atrocious eater…It comes from being Southern and loving Southern food. Fried and Fattening. Yes, you can make them in healthier ways but they just aren’t the same.
2.)Live by a budget.
3.) Paint my kitchen cabinets.
4.) Visit www.wholesaleinsurance.net and see if I can get some better rates than the highway robbery I am having to pay tomorrow for what we have.
I have been trying to decide for sometime what color to paint my cabinets. The walls in my kitchen are a metallic copper color and my counter tops are white. I am taking all suggestions…other than white. White is a disaster in my house…trust me, I know. So, what color do you think??

I hope you and your family have a blessed day together!
Merry Christmas to one and to all.
…
Ahh, the day is winding down. Hearts and bellies are full.
We have had a wonderful day here at The Post-It Place. Friends and Family have been dropping in and out, tons of food was set out buffet style, and we all feel very blessed. I love Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year. I love doing for others and seeing the joy on their face. What makes you feel blessed this year? As you reflect on all of the heartaches and joys that 2009 have brought it is my hope for you that the joys far outweigh the heartaches. It may be something as profound as a new child in your life or as simple as the fact that you have a job and bcbsnc insurance. You may have lost a loved one this year, but can reflect on all of the happy memories. As I look back I look at how much I have grown as an individual. There have been some tough times…but overall I can look at 2009 and be pleased.
Now, I am crawling to bed to dream the dreams I hope for in 2010. It is just a week away….what will you dream of for this New Year that is quickly approaching us?

…of the year. At least for most of us. It is my wish that you will each pick one person to do something kind for. There are so many people hurting and suffering this year and it only takes a moment to do something nice. Give a coat or a blanket to a homeless person. Buy someone having a horrible day a cup of coffee. Or simply smile at someone who looks like they could use it.
Remember, it is the simplest of things that can mean the world to someone else.
I am very blessed this Christmas to have a wonderful family and awesome friends that surround me. They lift me up on a daily basis and are there for me anytime I have what I consider a crisis. I met someone today. A very young someone who has changed me in a very profound way. She is a wise young lady at the tender age of 7 facing things that most of us do not have to face until much later in life and staring others things in the face that we will never see or could even imagine. As we talked about Christmas she asked that I pray for a miracle and believe with all of my heart. And yes, I do believe and I will hope and pray and I will ask you to do the same.

So, during this magical time of year, when wishes come true and hopes are realized I ask that you simply believe. Believe for a little heart that faces being broken and dreams shattered way before her time. Believe for all of the people around you that need for you to believe on their behalf because they face mountains that look unmovable. I believe.

These little cheesy balls of goodness stuffed with an olive inside are one of the most requested recipes. I say that alot I think. But my goodies baskets are always a huge hit and everyone always wants several recipes from the little slices of heaven inside. These, these are delicious and my husband will eat everyone of them if I leave them out to be found. I have to tuck them away in a container that isn’t see-through and then I have to hide the container. Seriously.
Cheese Olive Balls
1 Tablespoon butter
1 can of cheddar bacon squirt cheese
1 dash of Tabasco sauce
1 dash of Worcestershire sauce
1 cup of flour
Lots of olives
Empty the can of cheese spread in a bowl. Add butter, tabasco and worcestershire. Mix well then add the flour and mix until it makes a soft dough.
Pinch off a small amount of the dough and flatten, then wrap around an olive sealing it as best you can.
Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes (look at the bottoms if you are unsure…if the bottom is a light brown, they are done)
Now, if you are planning on taking any florida vacations and wearing a bikini anytime soon…stay far, far, far away from these. They are HIGHLY addictive.
