I first saw this recipe floating around on Pinterest. If you aren’t sure what Pinterest is don’t try to find out. It is the most addictive site I have ever been on in my life. If you do try to find out what Pinterest is about or are already an addict make sure to add me! I am there under Jyl Nipper. It sucks you in worse than welding supplies and won’t let you go. Before you know it hours have passed and you have lots of new projects to work on.
Anyway….
…back to homemade butterfingers. Butterfingers happen to be one of my favorite candies. I was a little unsure about trying this recipe, afraid I would be disappointed and dejected. Boy Howdy was I ever wrong. I like them as much if not better. These are not hard in the center like a store bought Butterfinger and they have a wonderful taste! And, only 3 ingredients!!

Peanut Butter, Candy Corn and Chocolate Coating (I used chocolate flavored Almond Bark but you can use whatever)

Place the candy corn in a microwavable safe bowl.
Microwave the candy corn on high for about a minute. Then microwave in 30 second intervals until it is completely melted.
Oh, and ya might want to stir in between.

It is going to come out being a big orange liquidy substance.

Stir in the peanut butter.
It kinda looks like a blog of mess at this point but we are getting to the good part so just hang in there.

Pour mixture into an 8 X 8 pan lined with parchment paper.
Let it cool and harden.

Lift the parchment paper out and then cut into squares.

While your butterfinger mix is cooling you can be melting the chocolate.
I don’t have a double boiler so I just make do with what I have.
This glass bowl fits perfectly on one of my smaller stock pots making it an instant double boiler.

AS you can see there is no right or wrong way to dip them. Some of ours are completely covered, some only half covered.
We like em either way.
WARNING!!!!!
These are addictive.
Very, very addictive.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
