We are not your typical DIY’ers. We seriously have no skill when it comes to home improvement projects but we have several on our list for this year.

I am proud to say however, that this is one that even we ROCKED!! Best Carpet Value made our lives so much easier. We didn’t even have an argument tackling this project!

It helps that the installation of this flooring is so easy that even we had NO trouble at all.

Here, let me show you:

room before

We started out with what we lovingly refer to as the junk room.

After we emptied the room we had to replace a few of the floor boards, then make sure all the dips and crevices were filled to make the floor level.

room during

After prepping the floor we were ready to install the carpet.

We are using Peel and Stick Carpet Tiles from the Paddington Line of Residential Carpet Tiles from Best Carpet Value.

The color we chose is called Americana.

best carpet value carpet tiles

These are so easy to install!

room after installation of carpet

Look how fabulous it turned out!!

We are so happy with the final result.

Start to finish it only took us about 3-4 hours.

carpet tile square

The great thing about them is that each square already has the padding and the adhesive on the carpet. All you have to do is peel the plastic off of the back and stick it down. No special tools are needed, all we used was a carpet knife and a yard stick to help make straight cuts. No installer is needed because they are so easy to install yourself.

Saves a TON of money.

And if you ever have an accident, and think you need to replace the carpet, you only have to remove one tile and replace it with another instead of replacing the whole room of carpet. Saving even MORE money!

Realistically though, you are rarely ever going to have to replace a tile because the carpet is made of a specially designed fiber that is stain and wear resistant, meaning that spills come up easily with just water or a little bleach and water solution and the bleach doesn’t even effect the color!

Check out this video to see just how easy the installation of these carpet tiles is:

You can learn more about Peel and Stick Carpet tiles by visiting the Best Carpet Value website and by following them on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on new styles and specials. And they would love for you to follow them on Pinterest, that way they can follow you back and enjoy your pins as well!

Berkshire Flooring Carpet tiles are the softest carpet tiles available on the market today. They are manufactured to allow for a broadloom appearance once installed. Paddington Square is available in solids and color flecks. With a range of eight colors it is easy to find the one that is right for your floor. The yarn is so soft and the pile so thick that you won’t be able to resist kicking off your shoes and going barefoot. The tiles are 24 in x 24 in. and come with a pre-applied pressure sensitive adhesive so you simply peel and stick them to the floor. Installation is easy, the only tools that you need are a square, a tape measure and a carpet knife. The carpet is made from Solution Dyed Continuous Filament PermaClean Fiber which is inherently stain and wear resistant. The carpet tile has an attached Eco Fiber Cushion made of 100% recycled fiber. All Berkshire Flooring Carpet Tiles are environmentally friendly and carpet tiles reduce waste by 15-20% compared with broadloom carpet. You will love that they are easy to handle and that they are the No Glue, No Tacks, No Tapes, No Odor way to a simply beautiful floor.

“Thanks to Best Carpet Value for providing the carpet used to facilitate this post. As always, all opinions are those of my own and were in no way influenced by receipt of promotional item, these really are FABULOUS!!”

Jyl's Deals Logo

Most folks who know me, know that I am about as frugal as they come. I love a good deal and I love to stockpile items that I get a good deal on. Because of that I get a lot of phone calls from friends and family asking me what the good deals are for that week. They want to know what I am going to be buying. And that is how Jyl’s Deals came about. This is not a couponing site. I won’t be matching up all the deals for all the stores for you, there are TONS of sites that already do that, and they are easy to find (my favorite site is Southern Savers, she has all the stores and a coupon database!). This is strictly what I will be buying, where I will get it and where I got the coupon to make the deal happen. So, welcome to Jyl’s Deals!

These are the deals that I will be getting the week of February 24th, 2013. Yes, I go to multiple stores. When there is a good stock up price I buy as many of those items as I have coupons for. Before you go to the store KNOW that stores coupon policy. If they are out of an item make sure to get a raincheck. There are many, many tips out there for couponing, but the biggest is with a little organization and pre-planning you can get some really good deals.

Vegetable Hummus Pizza

One of my “things” this year is to eat more fruits and vegetables. To eat a little healthier.

I don’t want to call it a goal, it isn’t something I want to strive for. It is something I want to DO every day. While I am a southerner and I love foods fried and rich, I also know that isn’t all you can eat on a daily basis. So, to help me conquer my daily quest, I have been trying out Tribe Hummus and all the different ways to eat it.

Veggie Sticks – Slice up your favorite vegetables and give it some zest with Tribe’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. This refreshing snack will keep you satisfied and feeling great.

·         Apple Slices – Trick your taste buds and try dipping this juicy treat into Tribe’s Classic Hummus. The sweet and salty taste will be sure to keep you pleased.

·         Pita Chips – This healthy alternative to traditional potato chips goes great with any flavor, including Tribe’s Roasted Garlic Hummus.

Along with the great treats above, I knew I wanted to use it in a recipe. Something a little different. There is always the tried and true wraps that incorporates hummus instead of mayonnaise, but what about a pizza? A vegetarian pizza! This is so easy to throw together that it shouldn’t even be classified as a recipe…and it turned out FABULOUS!

vegetable humus pizza ingredients

The hardest part is going to be deciding which of the 13 flavors Tribe has to offer. For this pizza I decided on the Roasted Garlic. But one of the MUST try flavors in my book is the Zesty Spice and Garlic! I think it has to be my favorite. Then I gathered up all the vegetables I wanted as toppings. Onion, Bell Pepper, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Tomatoes…Yum! And, to make it even quicker and easier, I opted to use a ready made thin crust.

spread humus on the pizza crust

Spread a layer of hummus on the crust.

sprinkle cheese on top of the humus

Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Any variety will do.

slice vegetables of choice for the pizza

Slice the vegetables thinly.

layer vegetables on top

Layer the vegetables on the pizza however you choose.

Vegetable Hummus Pizza

Bake on 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Serve and Enjoy!!

Thanks to Tribe Hummus, 3 lucky readers are going to win a month’s worth of hummus!!

That means you could try LOTS of different flavors. I want to try the Mediterranean Style next but my store doesn’t carry that one. So next time I go into Dalton I am going to have a look around for it. To see all their great flavors check out their website at http://www.tribehummus.com

And for all the latest news follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
