French's Logo

Mustard holds a special place in my heart.

It is my FAVORITE condiment.

Shhh, don’t tell but I hate mayonnaise so when I make a sandwich, mine always has mustard on it. And it has to be French’s. Ohhhh my tangy friend how I love thee.

It is also an integral part of my all time favorite breakfast:

sausage biscuit with mustard

Yep, a sausage biscuit with mustard!

Hey now…don’t knock it till you try it.

My friend Christy and I were on a road trip when she first discovered just how delicious it is. She thought I was insane when I told her to ask for mustard the first morning I ordered a sausage biscuit. Then she tried it and got hooked for life.

potato salad with mustard

I use mustard in my potato salad.

baked beans with mustard

In my baked beans.

And so many other foods and recipes that if I go on we are going to be here all day.

But it isn’t just yellow mustard:

mustard

Honey Mustard, great on chicken nuggets. Spicy brown mustard, perfect with corned beef. Dijon Mustard, fabulous on baked chicken.

And one of my all time favorite recipes using mustard?

Sloppy Joes!

Throw everything together.

French's Sloppy Joes

Eat and Enjoy!

They are so easy and delicious, two of my favorite attributes!

And French’s has the best Sloppy Joe recipe, you just have to try it!!

These never last long in my house, they are so much better than any sloppy joe you can make with canned sauce and they are so easy!!

So, what is YOUR favorite way to use mustard?

“French’s supplied me with samples to help facilitate this post. But I really have always used French’s mustard because it truly is my favorite. And even though you may think I have lost my mind by putting mustard on a sausage biscuit, you should try it. I have been eating mine that way since I was a very young child. Cause that is the way my granddaddy always fixed them for me. I never knew it wasn’t normal until I became an adult and people would look at me like I had lost my mind.”

George Foreman Logo

George Foreman® was behind the industry that pioneered indoor grills that Knock Out the Fat™ and is doing it again with a line of revolutionary products to help consumers cook more healthfully. In July 2010, George Foreman® introduced the Smart Kitchen™ Multicooker!  The Smart Kitchen Multi-cooker looks a little like a rice cooker but is soooo much more! The 26-cup multi-cooker can sear and cook meat, stews and sauces, steams veggies and yes, it also cooks rice. That’s right, it cooks a multitude of things in many different ways.

Once your done cooking you can even serve directly from the cooker by removing it from the base…or you can of course transfer the food to a bowl if that is your preference. Either way, it works great. And, one of the great features of the Multi-Cooker is all of the different cooking options. The Intelli_Probe digital controls offer some presets for rice or steam plus variable temperature settings for searing, sauces, stews and more. That means that you can sear your meat and then chance the setting for a soup or stew all in one pot. Whew, that makes for a lot less dishes to wash and because the Smart Kitchen™ Multicooker is made with the George Tough™ nonstick coating, clean up is a breeze.  The accessories are all dishwasher safe  which I love!
It is offered for a retail price of  $79.99 but I have seen it on sale at a couple of online retailers. I think the George Foreman site even had it offered for half price! That makes it versatile AND affordable!

Apple Brown Betty is a staple recipe around here that is so stinkin easy to make. It’s quick, affordable and feeds a crowd too! Although the pictures don’t depict it…it is best served with some vanilla ice cream. Here, let me show you just how easy it is to make:

applesauce

Add a quart jar of applesauce to a 8X10 or a 9X13 baking dish. Either will work great.

sugar

Add 1/4 cup of sugar to the applesauce.

mix

Just mix it up in your baking dish. No need to dirty more dishes than ya have to!

graham cracker crumbs

Chop up your graham crackers into crumbs

cinnamon

Mix in 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and stir it in good with a fork.

butter

Melt a stick of butter and add it to your graham cracker crumbs and cinnamon. Mix well

cover

Cover the applesauce completely with your crumb mixture.

pecans

Sprinkle pecans all over the top…if you like pecans. If you don’t, just leave them out.

You then bake it at 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes.

It really is that easy!

I love to learn more and more recipes. I would love for you to share one of your favorites!

Apple Brown Betty

brownbelt

She got her brown belt.

She is also one of my favorite people to be around. She is fun, funky and knows what she wants out of life. And, at 15 she is much more mature than most adults I know.

She died part of her hair brown just for the occassion.

Usually it is pink. Or blue. Or green. Or Purple. Or all of the above.

That is part of what I love about her.

She KNOWs who she is and what she stands for.

She has no ambition to be a part of baby jogger city until she is at least 25 and has won an Olympic Gold Medal in boxing.

And I can’t wait to see her do it!
