Summer can be such a busy time for families. School is out and kids are going every which way and at a very fast pace. Our house has been abuzz with all kinds of activities this summer and we have even expanded our family while we were at it. No, I didn’t have another child, just aquired them.
My dinner table provides us all with a much needed break from all the activities and allows us to all sit down together, catch up and find out all that is going on in one another’s lives while eating a great meal to boot.
Stouffer’s would like to help families get closer through regular family dinners, but without reliable housing , that can be impossible. I can’t imagine being without a dinner table for everyone to gather round, much less a roof over our heads…but it can happen to any of us…and that is how we have expanded our family. Only because of fortunate circumstances were we able to help during a time of need. That’s why Stouffer’s will donate 100 percent of the net proceeds of each book titled “Let’s Fix Dinner” by Todd Parr purchased to Habitat for Humanity. Because every child needs to have a roof over their heads, a table to eat at and a place to call home where they feel safe and secure. The books are currently on pre-order and will be shipped out in August.
“Let’s Fix Dinner” is a precious book that is beautifully illustrated and will delight your children each time they read it (or you read it to them). You will love being able to share it with family and friends alike.
Stouffer’s would like to bless 2 lucky readers with a giveaway package that includes a coupon for a free family-sized dinner from Stouffer’s, a Family Dinner Box of Questions to get the kids talking and the limited-edition “Let’s Fix Dinner” book by award-winning artist and author Todd Parr.
You will love the Family Dinner Box of Questions as well. They are great for sparking conversations that will last throughout dinner and sometimes beyond. One that has really sparked a major conversation around here, that has lasted for days:

In this edition he offers practical advice for today’s teens with easy-to-use solutions, entertaining quizzes, stories from teens and more. I have tied my daughter to a chair and am forcing highly encouraging her to read this book! It teaches them to IDENTIFY what exactly clutter is. This is a HIGHLY sought after tool in our home. See, my kids do not think that a dresser piled high to the ceiling is clutter. They see it as treasures to sit there for all enternity or till Mom gets fed up and cleans it herself.Both of my kids met the requirements to be Cutter King and Clutter Queen. I wonder what that says about me. No, scratch that, I do not want to know. And, I have to go make sure Erin hasn’t escaped moved onto something else besides reading how to de-clutter my her life
I received a copy of the book and DVD to help facilitate this review. I was in no other way compensated for this post.

To those of you that have been visiting me for some time I hope that you will remember me telling you about a book called “Somewhere In Germany”. This book was written by Deborah King and was centered around a man who lived not 2 miles from me. Paul was an American Soldier who was stationed in Germany during WWII. He fell in love with a young German woman…to understand it all you just have to read the book. You can visit HERE to get a brief version of the story.

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know that the woman that the book was centered around, Anna, passed away last week. Deborah King let me know that she passed peacefully with the knowledge that Paul never forgot her and never quit loving her. Anna was buried on Friday in Fahrenzhausen at the Church there.

This has been such an exciting week for me. I have had lots of new projects on the burner and they are almost done cooking. There are a couple that I just can’t discuss just yet, but information will be coming VERY soon. I have spent so many hours at my computer over the last few days that I think I am going to need that lasik surgery Mexico has to offer. One I can tell you about is that I have started working for a company called Wool Street Publishing. I am handling their online marketing approach concerning bloggers and other social media aspects. They have written and illustrated a precious board book for children ages 2-6. Flip Along Fun is a new mix and match board book that tells a story, teaches numbers and counting and helps understand sequencing. It contains nine “pages” comprised of three panels. The panels are mixed and matched to tell a story by matching the numbers and/or the pictures on each panel. The child selects randomly to arrange the first two panels then they have to find the correct panel to complete the storybook page by adding the numbers or matching the characters.
The Flip Along Fun book encourages learning by incorporating a fun game-style format into traditional reading and arithmetic! It helps children develop cognitive skills such as:
* Structuring sentences
* Matching
* Rhyming
* Adding
* Logical thinking
You really have to visit their website at www.flipalongfun.com and watch the video. You will fall in love with this new approach to learning and your children will have so much fun they won’t realize that it is educational.
