McCormick Grill Mates

I absolutely LOVE, love, love McCormick Grill Mates seasonings. I think I have almost every variety in my cabinet and I use them for so many different things…not just to season meats for the grill. Although they are fabulous for that and if you are having a cookout this 4th of July (or any other time for that matter) you should really consider trying out some of their new ones. I tried both the Grill Mates® Slow & Low Smokin’ Texas BBQ Rub and the Grill Mates® Slow & Low Memphis Pit BBQ Rub rubbed on ribs the other day. I don’t think I can decide which I like better so my suggestion is to grab a pack of both!! Having Burgers? No problem!! The Grill Mates® Steakhouse Onion Burger Seasoning is FABULOUS!!! They have SOOOO many different varieties that there is something for everyone and every meat that you can think of. The other day our grill messed up though and we wanted some flavor…as I was browsing the fridge and the cabinet to see what I could throw together I thought Hmmm, what if I mixed up some Grill Mates and some flour, and breaded some pork chops. Grand Slam!! We gobbled those babies up and wished I had made more. So, even if you don’t have a grill, don’t let that limit your imagination on what you can do with McCormicks Grill Mates.

Spiced Brandy and Herb Grill Mates

Choose your favorite flavor packet. I am using Grill Mates Spiced Brandy and Herb marinade. Even though it says it is a marinade it can be used as so much more. We use their marinades as seasonings, rubs and anything else we can think of.

Grill Mates and flour

Mix the packet with some flour (it doesn’t matter if you use all-purpose or self-rising, both work)

pork chops

Heat about 1/4 cup oil in a skillet. Dredge the pork chops in the flour mixture and fry on med-high heat for about 4 minutes per side.

Spiced Brandy and Herb Pork Chops

They will be golden brown and taste like perfection!!

Some of my other favorite recipes that I have made using Grill Mates are: Italian Cheesy Potatoes, Zesty Herb Potatoes, CrockPot London Broil

I hope you get the chance to try any or all of these. They are all so good and will make your family sing your praises. Or grab some Grill Mates, a slab of meat and fire up the grill. You really can’t go wrong either way.

I hope you each have a fun and safe 4th of July Celebration. We will be celebrating this great day of freedom by eating some great food, fellow-shipping with family and friends and floating around the pool. What’s on the menu? I am not completely sure yet other than some pulled pork BBQ made with Grill Mates® Slow & Low Memphis Pit BBQ Rub and some Italian Cheesy Potatoes. The rest is up to the guests since everyone has been asked to bring a side-dish. I will have to update you after I find out myself.

“McCormicks Grill Mates supplied me with some of the seasonings to help facilitate this post. I really have been using their seasoning and spices for forever and day and you just can’t get much better. I was in no other way compensated and all opinions are those of my own.”

It is such a nasty day here. Raining. Thundering, Lightning.

We are all holed up having a really lazy day since the weather isn’t fit to get out in. It is really kinda a good thing, it gives me time to get caught up on a bunch of stuff that I have been needing to get done but have put off because I really don’t want to do any of it. All that stuff like the mounds of laundry that resemble Mount Rushmore. Dishes that have been accumulating since Noah parked the Ark. Yeah, I know..I just haven’t had enough hours in the day.

I also need to be looking for Erin some insurance. Probably not Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina since she will more than likely be living in South Carolina, but something. I also need to be checking into a National car insurance since we really have no clue where all she will be living over the course of her fiance’s military career.

I am just dying to post a picture of Erin’s Wedding dress. We picked it up yesterday but since my future Son-In-Law keeps up with us though here and Facebook I can’t and it is about to kill me to show you. She has also picked out her shoes…she is going to wear sparkly Converse. Now we have to find the perfect veil. And the 50 million other things on our list.

Now, I am going to make BBQ sauce. And watch it rain some more.

Last weekend we found ourselves that the Apple Festival. A festival held each year in Ellijay, GA that has tons of craftsmen in all kinds of different areas. As we wandered around taking in all the sites Bric and I found ourselves in front of a booth, manned by a husband and wife team selling their line of sauces. They were such a fun couple that we were both immediately enthralled with their wit along with the delicious sauces that they make. I mean really, anyone who names their line of sauces Smack Yo Mama has to be fun to be around.

Smack Yo Mama Polynesian Sauce

After tasting a sample of all of their different sauces we settled on the Big Kahuna Polynesian Sauce. Bric would have loved it if I would have given in and let him bring home one of the hot ones but there was NO WAY! I just can’t handle things with that much fire in them. He of course was ooh’in and ahh’in and telling me what great wings it would make and all that mess. And then when I found out one he wanted was called the WidowMaker and the other was called ToxicWaste I really put a halt to that line of thinking.

WidowMaker? Really??

I don’t think so!

I need him around a few more years to pay off all the bills and to make sure his life insurance is fully vested. Ok, so I WANT him around many more years too.

Anyway, as soon as we got home we decided that we were having grilled chicken basted in the Big Kahuna Polynesian Sauce:

OhMyStinkinHeck!!!

This stuff is FABULOUS. We were all ooh’in and ahh’in with every bite and knew we had made the right decision. Now I just wish I had bought several bottles. Ok, so I really wish it came in gallon jugs.

If you visit the Smack Yo Mama website, make sure to read the FAQ section! You will see just what I mean when I say that they are a fun couple. You will immediately get a sense of their wit and humor. They also have a recipe section that you might want to check out.

I was in no way compensated for this post. I even bought the bottle of SmackYoMama that was used to facilitate this post! Cause you know, they really have no idea who I am at SmackYoMama.

When I went to Blissdom a couple of weeks ago I took 50 pounds of shredded pork BBQ with me.

NO, I wasn’t going to eat it by myself. Can’t believe ya’ll thought that! It was for the Country Party!

Anyway, Country Bobs sent all of the sauce to go on the meat. And OhMyStinkinHeck it was delicious. I may have cooked the meat, but the sauce made it! Country Bobs also sent each attendee to the party a bottle of sauce to take home and a coupon for a free bottle.

If you aren’t familiar with Country Bobs sauce, you need to get familiar. It is so good. They have BBQ sauce, an all-purpose sauce, a hot-n-spicy sauce and a seasoning rub. And their sauces are good on all types of meat. My whole family loves the sauce and since I had a few coupons left from the party, I would introduce your family to the sauce. So, I am going to have 5 winners, each will receive 2 coupons for a free bottle of sauce.

To enter, just visit Country Bobs recipe section in their site an leave me  comment telling me how you would use the sauce. All entries must have a US mailing address. All entries must be received by NOON EST Thursday Feb. 25th, 2010. Winners will be selected by random drawing.
