gooey caramel apple bar

Meet my Gooey Caramel Apple Bars.

You will be singing praises and hollering OhMyStnkinHeck this is good!

The fact that it is super easy to make is just a bonus.

gooey caramel apple bar ingredients

All you need is a yellow cake mix, a stick of butter, a large apple (I use Granny Smith), a tub of caramel dip and a can of evaporated milk.

caramel apple bars

Mix the cake mix with the stick of butter (which has been softened) and a 1/3 of a cup of evaporated milk until a dough forms.

I use a fork and just mash it all together.

diced apples

Dice the apple. You will think that one apple isn’t going to be enough but when you dice it into small pieces it goes a long way and will be plenty. Do not use large pieces or it won’t cook enough.

bar mix and diced apples

Press half of the dough into a 9 X 13 pan that has been greased and bake for about 8 minutes. Then sprinkle the apples on top.

top with caramel

Place the caramel dip in the microwave for 30-45 seconds so that it will be pliable enough to spread, then spread over the top.

top with remaining dough

Crumble the rest of the dough over the top. It will seem a little sticky but will crumble or just pinch small pieces and place on top.

Bake on 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.

GOOEY CARAMEL APPLE  BARS

1 tub caramel dip (use the brand of your choice or what you can find)

1 pkg.  yellow cake mix

1/2 c. butter, melted

1/3 c. evaporated milk

Grease and flour 13 x 9 inch pan. Mix cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Mix until dough holds together. Press 1/2 of the dough in pan and bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Sprinkle the apples over baked crust. Then spread caramel mixture over it and crumble rest of dough on top. Return to oven and bake 18-20 minutes. Cool slightly and then refrigerate about 30 minutes to set caramel. Cut into bars and serve.

Now, if you are like us we just couldn’t wait to dig in. So we let it cool for a little bit and then dug in. It is also great if it is still a little warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!!

Cinnamon Roll Apple Pecan Pie

This is one of those “Why in the heck didn’t I think of this before?” desserts. It is soooo good, and so easy. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare but looks and tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen.

When I first saw a version of this on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it. Once I did, I knew I could make it even easier and still just as delicious. This has become our new favorite!  A word of advice though…if you are going to take it somewhere make sure you buy those elastic things that look like mini pool covers. I think they are called bowl covers or something similar. Saran Wrap and Aluminum foil fit too closely and smear the frosting on the top. Or, I guess you could just wait until you arrived to put the frosting on. A tip about the frosting…you simply use what comes with the cinnamon rolls. I have personally found that I like using the store brand the best. The first reason is that it costs less. The second reason is that their frosting comes in a bag instead of a tub making it really easy to snip a corner and make pretty designs over the top!

Cinnamon Roll Apple Pecan Pie

1 can apple pie filling
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tube Cinnamon Rolls

1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Mix together apple pie filling and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.
Separate the cinnamon rolls and cut each into quarters.
Place the quartered rolls into the bowl with the apple pie filling along with pecans.
In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar.
Mix well and add to the cinnamon roll/apple filling mixture.
Toss gently to combine.
Spoon the mixture over into a well greased pie pan.
Bake at 350 for about 28-32 minutes or until a deep, golden brown.
Cool for about 5 minutes and drizzle the frosting over the top.

Apple Cream Cheese Danish

It is hard to beat a good cheese danish. Unless it is an APPLE Cream Cheese Danish!

Yummy!!

And I highly suggest that you try it while it is still slightly warm. Be prepared, this dish is addictive. It is hard to stay away and it never lasts very long in my house. I made it once to take to a friends house after they had a death in the family and when I went in get it to deliver I found half of it gone. Darn kids!

One of the great things about this is that you can use different fruits or no fruit at all! It is very versatile.

 Apple Cheese Danish Ingredients

You are going to LOVE  how easy it is. So let’s gather up the ingredients and get to cooking!

You will need 2 cans of crescent rolls, 2 packages of cream cheese, 2 apples, 2 eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, sugar, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a little milk.

Mix up all the ingredients for the apple filling.

Smartphones have become such a lifeline for today’s cell-phone users. They take a LOT of wear and tear though. We toss them in our purses, in our pockets, we had the to the kids to play all of the cool apps out there and they take a beating as a result. Before long, they end up smudged, scratched, and nicked, leaving us frustrated or looking for a new phone sooner than we’d like…and that can get expensive.

3M, a leader in optical films and adhesives, recently created their new Natural View Screen Protector, designed to help maintain your phone’s like-new appeal. Easy to apply with a residue- and spray-free adhesive, the 3M Natural View Screen Protector allows you to maintain a clear, crisp image on your screen while reducing glare and improving contrast. And unlike many other protectors, the Natural View’s stay-clean edges keep dirt and dust from collecting along the sides of our device.

3M Screen Protector

3M™ Natural View Screen Protector for Apple, Blackberry, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, and others:

Scratch Resistant – 3M technology provides superior screen protection against scratches and damage.

Smudge Resistant – 3M Scotchgard™ technology allows fingerprints and oils to wipe away easily.

Long-Lasting Protection – Natural View Screen Protectors provide a durable hardcoat of protection for your cell phone screen.

Stay-clean Edges – Innovative 3M coating protects the edges of your mobile phone and smart device from dust and grime.

Easy On/Off – 3M’s residue-free adhesive means your screen protector goes on easy and comes off clean.

Lifetime Warranty – Backed by a world leader in innovation, and brand you can trust.

I have tried several different screen protectors for my phone. My biggest problem is applying them correctly so that there isn’t bubbles and they are aligned properly. With the 3M brand they go on a little easier than other brands that I have tried. I love the clarity of the Clear View technology that 3M uses and the fact that they don’t require cleaning as often due to smudges. So, overall they get a thumbs up in my book!

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of 3M and received a Natural View Screen Protector to facilitate my review and a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
