THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED!!!

Uggg, it is a dreary rainy day here in Georgia. That is nothing new but I a so tired of all the rain, muck and mud. My driveway has almost washed completely away with ruts the size of Texas in it and I just want to crawl under the covers and hide from all the dreariness of it. So, instead…I have been working on Christmas stuff. I love Christmas. I love preparing for it, decorating for it, cooking for it…every aspect of the Holidays thrills me beyond belief. I am already doing some test cooking so that I can share tons of yummy goodness with you…and I have been putting together a list of my favorite things to share with you. In all my preparations, cards is near the top of the list. Each year we have a family photo taken and make out Christmas cards out of them. One year we did the black and white route, one year we had matching gowns and hats made that we all wore, one year we all wore Santa hats. It just varies from year to year.

I am so thankful today is Friday. I am ready for this week to be over. Tate’s thumb is healing much better than we ever expected and it looks like he may not loose the end of it. That is our hope anyway. Bric’s surgery for the tumor in his back is looming over us but we are trusting that everything will be fine and appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. Keep sending them our way. Otherwise I think I would be needing to run away and have a stay at a San Diego hotel.

I am loving the Feature You Friday series. I am getting to meet lots of really talented and fabulous people and hope that you are all enjoying it as well. There are many more to come with some great giveaways to look forward to.

Part of Erin’s graduation announcements came today and we are working towards getting them addressed and ready to go and we have gotten her friends ordered and on their way. I am so thankful for the great people in my life that have allowed me to do at least that much for her. And thank you to a very special reader that has graciously offered to send a little something to help her pay her graduation dues. I know with Erin the cost is phenomenal and this girl is appreciative and thankful for everything being done for her. It is so sad for me to think of people like her who have made very good grades and are slated to graduate with honors but everyone wants these kids to now pay an arm and a leg to try and better their lives. Another reader also asked me to place a donate button up so that she could help this girl out a little so that is why that is here now. If you would also like to donate a dollar or two every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.

I hope you each have a great weekend!! I know I am looking forward to mine.

My day has just been a weird day full of weird things. First Bric had an appointment this morning, he had a place on his face that was removed and it turned out to be carcinoma, so to the dermatologist to make sure it was all removed. They had to cut it really deep and a lot wider to make sure there were no cells left. So he now has this huge bandage over one side of his face. Then I had a call from a friend talking to me about graduation invitations. She knows of a girl graduating with Erin that wasn’t able to purchase the announcements that the school offers and she knew we were doing ours in a totally different way. So, I hooked her up and we ended up getting the girl a set as a gift thanks to other people getting involved. Now we just need to figure out how to get the girls graduation dues paid for. The kids (well, the parents really) are having to pay $50 to graduate, $75 if they are graduatin with honors, which both Erin and this girl both are. She comes from a family that struggles more than most and she needs and deserves every break she can get. So, that is my next project, helping figure out a way to get her graduation dues paid for. Oh, and let me show you the announcements while I am thinking about it:

I had to edit out some of the info, so if it looks a little weird that is why. But we are VERY pleased with them.

And, we are sorta kinda a little looking for another dog. My cats are getting old and one is sick and we are having to make a decision about them. The backlash of that decision is that Tate wants a dog. He says that I have a dog (my big girl Roxie who weighs in at about 110 lbs), Erin has a dog (her little yorkie who weighs in at 3 lbs) and he wants a dog of his own. Roxie originally became a part of this family as a dog for Tate, but she immediately became attached to me and has since been my shadow. She is now about 7 years old, Gabbie is around 8 years old. He wants a puppy. I thought I had found the perfect fit for us. I saw an ad for some Weimaraner Puppies and I have done everything in my power to be one of the lucky recipients but we have yet to hear back. They are such pretty, gentle and loyal dogs. So, if we don’t hear back soon we are going to have to start looking in other directions.

So, what has your day been like? I am just thankful I haven’t had my sisters day. She caught her kitchen on fire. Ok, so not really her whole kitchen, just her stove. Guess she wanted CRISPY fried chicken or something.
