Country Gal goes to the City
October 2nd, 2009Yesterday I spent the day in New York City. Now, ya’ll all know that I am about as country as country gets…and that the concrete jungle hold little alure to me. But WOW, I had the best day. The whole reason I went was for you. So that I could tell you all about the hot new toys for the upcoming Holiday season that is quickly approaching us. That I had a great time was just a bonus. I attended the Time To Play Holiday Toy Showcase event that was smack dab in the middle of New York. Getting there, that was the interesting part. I knew that I didn’t want to spend the night in a strange city alone, let alone a HUGE city so I booked my flight to leave and return on the same day. And boy howdy did I ever pack ALOT into one day thanks to Time to Play and Nicole. Nicole and I have been friends on the net for some time and I finally got to meet her in person when I was in Asheville. It was then decided that she would pick me up from the airport and show me the city after the Time To Play Holiday Showcase. There will be so much more from the showcase later, but here are some pictures of New York:
I watch the sun rise . Have no idea where I was, but I was in the air, over somewhere East Coast USA. It was a beautiful site.
I always love being above the clouds and looking down on them. Makes you wish you could plop down and snuggle in for a sleep. They are just so fluffy and soft looking.
I have arrived.Oh…wait….that should have been OMG I have arrived. Now I have to ride with someone…in NYC. Where people drive like maniacs.It really wasn’t that bad, except for the fact that everyone drives really fast and stops really fast. There isn’t an in-between.
This tunnel goes under the Hudson River. That is kinda freaky. Sassy would be bout to pee her pants if she had to drive this.
See all the little trees on top of the building? Even city folks long for a little country. I should show them my trees…they would be so envious. Of course they could be like Nicole who would give her right pinky toe to live in the middle of downtown. Seriously, she really said that. I can’t even imagine living there a week much less full time. But then again, I am the country gal through and through.
Stayed tuned for the next segment…which will be posted at some point…maybe today, maybe tomorrow. Depends if I go snooze some more.
