Summer is QUICKLY approaching. I mean REALLY quickly.

That means long days. High temperatures (at least here in my neck of the woods) and the constant wailing of “Mom, I’m bored”.

What do you do with your kids during those summer months when you really hate to see them sitting in front of a game console or computer for hours on end?

Here in Hicktown there isn’t a lot to do. No movie theater, no bowling alley, no skating rink. We have a very, very small park but it really wasn’t established for kids. It is mostly for the adults. So what do we have around town that is good for the kids? Nothing. We have to get creative. We find places in other areas to visit that have more activities and establishments geared towards kids. But with Bric out of a job at the moment we will be getting even more creative this summer. It gets so hot here during the day that we have also found that we enjoy being out and about during the evenings after it has cooled off a little.
