Do you have serious gamers in your house? We have several. The guys are seriously into several of the multi-player online shooter games. At least that is what I call them. You know, the ones like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Joint Ops, Fear, Alien VS Predator, etc. The list here goes on. Of course it does make gift-giving decision easier. All I have to do is find out what new game or piece of technology to go with a game is coming out and it will work for either Bric or Tate and you would think I had given them a new car. So, I was thrilled when I head about Microsoft SideWinder X4 Gaming Keyboard!

094(Shoot, I tried to show you how the keys are back-lit and all that fun stuff but this is about as good as I can get. )

With the gaming industry at an all time high Microsoft has answered the call and came out with the ultimate keyboard for gamers. It is designed to give gamers more control over their gaming experience, the SideWinder X4 comes equipped with the industry’s most advanced anti-ghosting technology – ensuring that the most complex key combinations will be recognized by the computer to keep the game in action. Other advanced gaming features include, macro recording, mode and profile switching, and adjustable backlighting. The SideWinder X4 Keyboard is available for $59.95 and requires Windows 7/Windows Vista/Windows XP, CD drive and Powered USB port.

Details on the SideWinder X4:
Advanced anti-ghosting capability
Press up to 26 keys simultaneously without ghosting-what you press is what you get!

Mode switching
Manually toggle the keyboard from standard mode to either of two gaming modes. LEDs show the selected mode.

Automatic profile switching
When a game or application profile is assigned using the software, the keyboard detects the game or application you are running and applies your custom profile to the application.

Programmable macro keys
Switch among three banks of six programmable macro keys to assign up to 18 macros per profile.

In-game Macro Record button
Record any sequence of keystrokes-even standard chat messages. Macros are stored on your hard drive and can be easily shared.

Automatic macro repetition
Set your macros to repeat.

Backlit keys
Adjust key-legend backlighting with three illumination levels plus “off.”

Media keys
Play/Pause, Previous Track, Next Track, and Mute.

3-Year Limited Warranty
The guys are LOVING the SideWinder X4. What they rave about the most is the programmable macro keys. It makes hard to do moves easy as pie with the tap of one button. And, it looks like we are in the need of a second Microsoft SideWinder X4.
