PEANUT BRITTLE

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 cups raw shelled peanuts

1/2 cup white Karo syrup

1/2 cup HOT water

1/4 stick butter

1 heaping teaspoon soda

Boil sugar, syrup and water until it spins a long thread. Add peanuts and cook until it turns brown. Add 1/4 stick of butter and stir until melted. Add soda and remove from heat while stirring in the soda. Pour onto a buttered sheet of foil and spread thin.

Once set up good and has completely hardened break into pieces.
