Today starts a week of Crock pot recipes at the request of a reader. Crock pot recipes are typically easy, time savers, and economical. I love my crock pot and use it often. If you have a recipe you would like to add just let me know either by e-mail or in the comments and I will be happy to feature it as well.

Sugared Pecans

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

Preparation:

Stir the pecans and butter in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart Crock Pot until combined. Add confectioners’ sugar, stirring to coat. Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes. Turn to low and cook uncovered for about 2 hours, or until the nuts are covered with a glaze and are a little crispy.

Transfer to a bowl, combine spices and sift over nuts, tossing to distribute evenly. Cool pecans before serving.

Easy and delicious, you just can’t ask for much more. These are great to make if you are having a party, for the holidays or for any other special occasion.

  1. This is a new one on me and I use a crock pot all the time. This seems much simpler than the stove method- I am giving this a try for Christmas. I live up north so pecans are real treats!

  2. My crockpot is my favorite thing ever. I seriously think my kids would eat junk most everday without it. I love gathering more recpies for it.
