A couple of years ago both of my Mom’s parents passed away within just a few months of one another. While we were cleaning out their house a couple of 3 ring-binders full of recipes were found. I was given the books by my Mom and Aunt, eventually sharing one of them with my sister. I have glanced through it on a few occassions but have never really taken the time to LOOK at it. Well, with everything going on next door at my Mom’s house I decided to take the book with me and spend some time in it. I have found a treasure trove of many old recipes that she used to make that I thought were lost. I had gone through her recipe box and didn’t find some of the ones I was looking for and just figured that they were gone with her. Well, some may be but many have been found. And I have decided to share with you. Lets talk about cake. Within “The Book” there are probably over 100 different cake recipes. And since I am going to be pretty busy for the next few days and still wanted you to have something to look at…I have chosen cake. Here you will find some of the recipes she used to make for us when we were kids. There are some everyday ones, some strange ones and some that I have no idea what they are…some just say “Cake”.
So, we are in for a journey. A journey back in time to when carefree days were the norm and calories didn’t matter. Join Me.

This is an actual recipe out of “The Book” and the first of the cake recipes we will be exploring.
