Through Jim’s illness has come many moments of joy. It is so hard to watch him struggle through this battle he is having to face but through it all there have been many triumphs. We have all learned to lean on one another a little more and appreciate the time we have with one another. We have gotten to know a neighbor that lives through the woods a lot better. They were dear friends to my Dad when he was alive and after he passed away we all just lost contact. But recently she has come to our aid many times. She is a nurse by profession and a dear person at heart. She has checked on all of us daily and her family has helped us with some projects that needed to get done. We all came together over the weekend and built a deck and a ramp on my Mom’s house in the back. She has called daily to see if we need anything. And she has spent hours at my house sitting with the Princess teaching her to sew. Isn’t it funny how it takes a tragedy to bring people back to the root of things? For years we haven’t seen or spoken to one another and now we see each other daily. I know that my Mom is so grateful to be blessed by such a kind hearted neighbor, one that comes whenever called, one that never hesitates when asked if they mind helping with whatever task needs to be done. I hope that one day we can repay the favor no matter the need but until then…we will rejoice in renewed friendships and time well spent…and with the BBQ sauce she loved to receive when my Dad would gift her with a jar. Thank you for all you have done Deb. You will never know how much we appreciate and care for you and your family.
